Great seat for sale Twins 4/22-23
I am once again offering my single seat in section 117, row 7, for a number of games throughout the season. This is one seat, dead-center behind home plate, in the vicinity of scouts and other assorted dignitaries (not to mention some very cool ANers). I will be selling my ticket whenever I can't make it to a game. Right now, I have a ticket available for both the 4/22 and 4/23 games against the Twins. I'm asking $50 per ticket, which is the box office price. ("Premium" games, if available, will go for $55.) For an additional $10 I will include the VIP parking pass. If you're interested in these games or any others, please email me at skigurl at sonic dot net.

Not interested in the tickets, but I do have a question maybe someone
can answer. Why do people spell out their email address. I see this frequently on blogs but what would be the harm of listing it as skigurl@sonic.com or whatever?
I'm not trying to be a jerk, just curious.

It's to avoid harvesting by spam bots ...
she's likely going to be getting some unwanted e-mail now ....

It's an attempt to avoid crawlers
Spammers have programs that crawl the web looking for email addresses. By putting an email address in a standard format, you're pretty much guaranteeing yourself more spam, as your email address will definitely be picked up. It's a good thing you got her email addr wrong above :-)
There's no reason to think that at least some of these crawlers aren't smart enough at this point to pick up common patterns like "at" and "dot" but it still makes it a little harder, since "at" and "dot" occur frequently in English, and @ does not. If you're really nervous about it I recommend doing something less conventional -- even skigurl eat sonic doot net would be considerably less likely to be picked up.

Thanks for the info.
I got it "wrong" intentionally. I figured there was a reason she spelled it out. Thanks for the heads up! Much appreciated.

Well, I figured I'd challenge the spammers just a bit
although I realize that the "disguise" I used would be pretty easy to discover. Hopefully it's better than nothing.
