Sick of A's TV schedule
Last Fri, 13-2 spanking of KC, not on TV!
Today 11-2 spanking of Twins, not on TV!
Out of the remaining 139 games, 28 will not be on TV. Compared to the Giants, who will only miss 4 games on TV. Every time there is a duplicate on CSN, it's the Giants and not the A's. I like the Giants OK now that they are the fighting underdog, but why so little love for the A's? Where/who do we complain to? What are A's marketing people doing about this?

I thought that now that I have cable (after not having it for 23 years) I wouldn’t miss games, WRONG! One day the A’s weren’t on TV they were showing Arena football! That sucks. Maybe if the Giants stink all year and the A’s keep playing well they will add a few to the schedule.
A's all the way in 08 . . . oh never mind!

I'd complain about a Friday game not on TV...
...but the A’s are NEVER on TV for a home midweek day game during the regular season. The Boston one was an exception dealing more with the change in time than anything else.

I hate the Giants
but the reason they put the Giants over the A’s is they believe they get better ratings.
If the A’s keep winning and the Giants keep stinking though, this will change.

Look on the bright side
That’s 28 blowout wins we have to look forward to not watching.
I'm here to talk about the past.

you do realize...
the G aints own part of Comcast sportsnet … So, anymore questions the A’s get shafted on the TV coverage?

Now, yes...
...but it’s always been this lopsided.
Some read stats. Fans actually watch the games.

I feel your pain...
...and agree with your sentiments, but it’s been like this ever since I can remember. Not that fans shouldn’t do what they can and complain to (hopefully) someone that will listen, of course.

What I don't get is that when the Giants are on CSN
how is it possible that Action 36 could get better ratings with re-runs of “That 70s Show” than with the A’s game? Is this possible?
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

Of course not....
But it is a hell of a lot cheaper to put the 70’s Show on too…..

Shouldn't be
The A’s should be giving the TV rights away for free if they have to. It’s advertising for the team.
Weekday home day games (where, if you’re sitting around anyway, you really should just get out to the frigging park) are the only ones where a blackout could be the superior option to showing the games gratis.
Or maybe they could work out an arrangement where for certain low-viewership games, they just take a cut of the ad profits.

I think this is the worst year so far for televised games
Especially over here. It used to be that EVERY game on Action36 played on our local affiliate, but now? There hasn’t been one on that channel all year, even though the Giants games are. And the last game on CSN (not plus, we don’t get plus, haven’t since a couple years ago)? I can’t even remember. I haven’t seen a game in over a week and it’s making me really angry. Sadly, I don’t think there is anything I can do about it.

Just thinking out loud here
Why is it we are pissing and moaning about comcast and Action36?
Why aren’t we complaining about the A’s marketing and/or media department? Isn’t it up to them to get the deals for TV and Radio each season?

It isn't them
It is the network. The A’s do not have the ratings. Because of Barry Bonds, the Giants have been the ratings king for the last several years. This is the first year that might change. But there has to be proof of that before the change will happen as far as the TV schedule is concerned.
One thing the A’s have done to accommodate more games on TV is move Saturday games to 6:00pm. There is some weird thing with either ESPN or FOX (can’t remember which off the top of my head) that says that they own the rights to the day game time slot for Saturday games. Because which ever it is (or both depending on how you look at it) don’t EVER pick up A’s games, the A’s have moved their games to a time slot that is not already dictated, therefore they can broadcast more Saturday games. If those games were at 1:00pm, per usual, we would NEVER see those games.
So look at it this way, they have TRIED to be accommodating, they are just limited by the powers that be (ESPN, FOX, Comcast, Yankees) as to how often they can broadcast. But they are trying, I do believe that.

I think the A's should get their own station
Play A’s and Quakes games. And re-runs like action 36 lol.

An A's channel -- wouldn't that be sweet?
Hey, Blez—howsabout investing in some middle-aged media?
Or at least running the games on AN, with a game thread alongside? I don’t wanna further enrich those buccaneers at MLB, but I’d pay a subscription to be able to see all the A’s games with better commentary than is currently available in the traditional media.
Yes. I’d like that (even) better than a search function.

Show me the money!
It’s all about ratings. Unfortunately, the Giants get better Arbitron numbers than the A’s. When the A’s play KC, they are never televised. The A’s are weak in their ability to work with Media outlets. TV coverage is horrible and radio is even worse. Let Lew Wolff, Mike Crowley and Ken Priess know about your displeasure.
