CarGo Injured
In the ninth inning of Sacto's game at Las Vegas this evening CarGo fouled an inside fastball down the left field foul line. He immediately dropped the bat and the Mgr and Trainer didn't hesitate to take him out of the game.
I'm don't mean to cry wolf b/c there was no report of the injury, but the fact that he immediately came out doesn't sound very good. Something like that often is a 'Pop' of some sort where the athlete immediately knows something is wrong.
Hopefully it is nothing serious and hopefully the A's post a report on their home page tomorrow.

Looks like he's absorbing the A's philosophy well
Namely, exploit that California workman’s comp system for all it’s worth!

We could put together one hell of DL team, Hell last year’s DL team would have won the west.

There was a golden age there!
it was funny, actually, I got a PM out of nowhere from ToniPeluso on the scout.com boards inviting me to join their fantasy keeper league.
Oh, I was mike92tsi over there btw, not mikev

occasionally(I was LordSyphonLSD if you couldnt put 2 and 2 together). Back in the day I mostly just lurked. Once they changed formats it went down hill. I still remember that Angels guys getting all pissy someone posted a pic of him and tryed banning everyone. LoL.
When will then be now? Soon.

But God, it would be hilarious.
You KNOW he’d be in favor of Thomas and Bonds, and he’d probably also want to sign CC Sabathia and bring back Washington.
I’m pretty sure most of those guys are still in a yahoo fantasy keeper league together.
anybody else hear Toni Peluso get picked for the home run inning a couple games back?

What about Vert
He does not come around anymore. He said he was not going to support the team after they got rid of Haren

Cant blame him really.. I wasnt happy
but at least Billy rebuilds the right way when he does. Its almost a catch 22 to rooting for A’s players. If you root too hard and they do well they price themselves outta town,

Their chess-playing has attracted so much notice that one teammate -- they're not sure who, but they have a guess -- has begun hiding pieces, which are then discovered in odd places. The kings remain missing, so they're playing with Eric Chavez Bobbleheads. "Chavvy does have six Gold Gloves," Brown explained. "That's good enough to be king."

A Left hander fouling a inside fastball down the left field line? Did he get jammed?

on the inside part of the plate while the radio broadcast said the ball was fouled down the left field line…don’t shoot me, I ‘m just the messenger

Falkenborg’s game-ending strikeout came against two batters, as Carlos González had to leave the game with an 0-2 count after suffering a hand injury, and his replacement, Casey Rogowski, finished off the strikeout.González’s playing status will be revaluated before today’s game, Steverson said.

Theres still room on the major league DL. He’s starting to feel more like a true Oakland Athletic.

Thanks for the update
doesn’t look like its too serious if he’s a game time decision….its freaks you out when an athlete immediately knows they have to come out….if something hasn’t snapped or broken they’ll usually try to play a bit more to confirm they can’t continue to compete….hopefully it just a bad bone bruise

Listening to the game
THe rivercats announncer said he is being evaluated for thursday. “not all that serious but you never know.”
by Future Ed on Apr 22, 2008 3:12 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Evaluated for Wednesday = 60 Day DL
Evaluated for Thursday = Tommy John surgery
Evaluated for Friday = Services Pending
So could be better, could be worse.

I'm sure they'll have to amputate his hand this weekend
Although with modern technology, maybe CarGon can get one of those neat bionic hands. Would MLB allow him to play then?
