Desme is probably starting in Vancouver
He had a very abbreviated 2007 season, as he missed about three months with a wrist injury.
Putnam got squeezed out by all the outfielders who came into the organization (Denorfia, Fiorentino, Cunningham, Gonzalez, Sweeney, maybe one or two I'm forgetting).
Linden's contract allows him an out... in June.
The real system weakness is third base, where there really isn't a single legitimate prospect at this point. I'm still wondering why the team doesn't at least contemplate the possibility of putting Doolittle at third. Yes, I know he's lefthanded, but he's supposed to have a great glove.

I don't think Linden had anywhere else to go
but by the looks of things (...SMALL SAMPLE SIZE :o of three games...) if he continues to hit BB will have to give him a chance...I'm still doubtful of putting CoGo at the MLB level yet....be sure he's solid and confident at AAA, so that if he struggles at the MLB level he wont be looking back at AAA, but can grind through a tough spell
stockton pitching staff
So the starting pitching staff in stockton will be...
DLS
B. Anderson
T. Cahill
H. Rodriguez
A. Leon
Is that right or are they moving H. Rodriguez to the bullpen all ready?
Do we think Anderson will be the first promoted?

Definitely not in his case
because he's still on the 40-man roster.

Rivercats Roster
I received an email this moring from the Cats front office saying that they would not be posting their roster until Wednesday.
Stockton in SJ
Stockton will be at San Jose April 14, 15, 16. I am trying to free up some time to go to one of those games. Anyone else?
Desme
Desme is working through an injury in extended spring training. I would assume, given his skill set, he'll make his debute a month or so into the year (my guess would be in Kane County or MAYBE Stockton if the A's really like what they see). Cahill and H-Rod did last year did the same thing last year and it didn't see to hurt them, so I wouldn't be worried.
Sometimes life will strike you out on a curve ball and the only choice you have is to flip off the umpire and walk to first base anyway.
Odds seem pretty good
There are a whole bunch of guys who are rehabbing injuries (including the aforementioned Windsor and Komine) who didn't show up on these lists, so it's a decent bet they'll be in extended spring training for a while.

There is a separate Extended Spring Training list in one of the threads.
Also is one on Notes from the Nat s new site.
Charlie Brown GO A'S WIN

Any word on Corey Brown
I say him play last summer...absolute masher, but lots of K's and looks lost sometimes...will have to make big adjustments to progress....but nice pop...didn't seem real motivated on Defense
Looks like Kane County
Looks like he will start his season next Monday for the Low-A Cougars. If he can get off to a hot start I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a quick promotion up to High-A Stockton.
He got some ABs with the big-league club in the spring
Hit a home run in his first one, I think. Hopefully this is a good omen.
He has huge, huge potential-- could be as good as Curtis Granderson, and might even have more power than Granderson to boot. I really liked that pick, despite his reputation as... not the brightest bulb in the pack. It's pretty much a crapshoot anyway... might as well take some chances on guys who could turn out to be stars.

Some interesting stuff in the MiLB web-sites
When I was looking around at some of our affiliates official web sites I noticed that Ryan Webb will not be in the starting rotation at Midland. i wonder if he will get lost in the shuffle. Personally I would have rather he got a shot than Danny Borrell.
Also it looks like there are only 3 OFers on the Ports roster; Mitchell, Sulentic, and some guy named Archie Gilbert(?). Could be a spot up there if Brown looks good early.
I guess I can put this here
There was also a mention of the RiverCats V. Ports exhibition match up. Carlos Gonzalez went 4-4 including 2 solo HR's, and Cahill started for the Ports going; 5IP 0R 3H 7K 6BB(yikes). I couldn't find a full box score though.
Looks like CarGo went off on the Ports' 'pen ...

Strangely enough
CarGo actually went off on the 'Cats' 'pen: story
It also mentions that Jason Ray is scheduled for elbow surgery.
