A first look at a whole new game

Hey folks.  Just letting you all know that I posted the first screenshot of the game I am building.  I am getting pretty excited about it and it works like a champ so far.  I have a few more things to complete before we will be starting beta sign ups which could possibly be next week if all things go well.  Check out the post at www.predictaplay.com.

See anything on there you have questions about?  Anything you see that is missing.  Help me out!  Post your comments here or there either one.

Notice the A's colors and I even got some digs in at the Angels.

Update:

Thanks to everyone for the feedback! I am working really hard on getting beta sign ups done this week.  I plan on giving first priority to AN so keep an eye out for my post this week.

That looks like it could be fun!

If you predict something and you're wrong, do you lose points, or just not gain them?

By the way, this sentence cracked me up for some reason: "The field is there basically to remind you you are watching baseball." For those of us with really short attention spans, or maybe some brain damage... ;)

The field...

Yeah I am going to expand the field stuff later I think but it won't be in the first version. I am going to show where the admin watching scored the last hit and maybe keep track of some of those statistics like showing what percentage is going where in the future but that is all very far off. I realize that sometimes I get to babbling so I try to throw in something funny every now and then so glad it worked :)

As far as the points go you can't lose total points so the worst you can do is 0. Because even the best person predicting would probably have less than 0 points total. Since the maximum that something that happens is like 25% which is a ground out then that means 75% of the time you will probably be wrong (unless you're some kind of fortune teller).

What you can do is lose bonus points. Those are there to be risk vs reward. So if you picked the bonuses wrong like lets say you pick a base hit as your main pick and an RBI as your bonus. If the base hit happens but the RBI doesn't you would get 4.5 points. You got the base correct of 5 points for the base hit but you got the bonus incorrect which was 10% of your total. So you lose a half a point. That whole thing is covered in my risk vs reward post if your curious about it.

Is that like "I'd hit that"?

nice

This game looks awesome, pretty sick idea that really hasn't seemed to have been implemented anywhere other than the colosium thing that inspired it all. Interface looks really good, very simple but youre able to do everything you want easily from the looks of it. Good luck with that.
btw, you have a link to SA on your page, you post over there?

Yeah I am a goon

Mostly I lurk and such but I hang out in D&D and SAS mostly. I made a post about predictaplay there a while ago and it sank so fast. I think it was too soon. When I do beta sign ups which should be next week I am going to make another post there. Bump it for me :)

eh

Not on there anymore but I'll definitely make an effort to get in on that Beta so throw it up over here too
