Open Thread: Spring Training Game 6 - A's vs. M's

Noah Lowry has set the standard: The goal right now is to walk fewer than 9 batters per inning. Yikes. Outings like Blanton's and Zito's and Lowry's so far this spring remind you of how little spring training stats mean - and at the same time how fragile the art of pitching can be and how quickly it can bite you in the Ankiel. Enjoy the game today, and hey - let's not get hurt out there!

Furthermore

what about news regarding the latest multiple team trade in which we somehow manage to land LaRoche, Hu, Kershaw, and Kemp by trading away Blanton, Ellis, Chavez, Street, Meyer, and Simmons?

hard look

They must be giving brooks a very hard look this spring. He's been in pretty much all the ST games so far hasn't he? Or atleast made an appearance if he didn't start. So far i'm impressed with what i've seen out of him. I realize it's just ST, but it's still encouraging.

he has made an appearance in all the games except for 1. Or are you not counting today's game? I'm not entirely sure how his defense is, but he seems to be holding his own so far.

I need my own prep time

Either that or I am working too much. Every time I see ST, I read it as "straight time" rather than Spring Training.

At least I see DJ and don't think "Don Jr" (my son).

you see inflated ERAs in ST because the pitchers just try to make sure and throw a lot of strikes, if they arent throwing strikes in ST..... (See Noah Lowry)
