A's Opening Day Roster: Breaking Down the Pitchers
Here's a nice breakdown of the pitchers on the A's opening day roster from Nathaniel Stoltz at Bleacher Report:
Just thought I'd pass it on to the crew here to dissect, discuss, and tear apart. Enjoy.

I dream of a day
when the fact that Huston Street's ERA went up a tick won't be treated as prima facie evidence that he got worse last year.

I dream of sheep, chains, and butter
Yours worries me.
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

I dream of a day when one-link "tell-me-what-you-think" posts are put in the DLD

or in the "FanShots" section
Really, that's what it's there for.

pictures, short comments, individual links, whatev
That feature was designed specifically for what bleacherman did: post a link without offering any real comment on it.

*sigh*
That's a nice dream.
Are one-paragraph "here's a story that I think is funny!" posts put in the DLD in that dream, too?

Yes. I often post funny things that get lost in DLDs, but at least I don't break the diary code.

I'm probably alone
but i really don't get into the whole 'DLD' thing. I come to this site to read about the A's. The DLD's seem to move towards a bunch of different topics, often not related to baseball. Maybe that's the idea, i just don't get it. Regarding the Fanshots, i typically don't pay attention to them because there is usually nothing of value there. I've tried to read the DLD's for some humor, but after about 20 or 30 posts I generally get bored and move on to something else. Again, it's probably just my screwed up way of looking at things. Or, maybe I have ADD. That would suck.

Given that this is the only "online community" I participate in, I like the DLD
I get my news from the DLD, and find cool links like the one about Cust mashing fastballs.

Yep
I assumed that you wanted both what I said and what you said.
If my tone's clipped, it's 'cause I hate work today.

dinardo
Their analysis of Lenny leaves out the fact that he gets a whole heap of ground balls. I pretty much agree with the conclusion about him though (he's useful for his versatility -- non-horrible pitching in long relief or spot starts)

I also think he throws harder than Keith Foulke
But that was some pretty decent analysis. At least the pro/con part of it.
I'm not sure I learned anything, but for something posted in a place other than here, it was solid work.
