what's for lunch/brunch?
me; omelet with spinach, mushrooms, sunflower seeds, tortilla, pico de gallo and guacamole, plus a BIG cappucino made with freshly ground beans. (I think I eat best at home!)
Where do you live? :-)
And failing that...can I have $10?

did I just read that Buck bunted for a single? Somewhere, Joe Morgan rejoices!

not sure dominating this year's Giants
is that impressive -- but NOT dominating them wouldn't be good

Will we get anything for JOHNSON?
...or does he just get to enjoy front row seats to MLB games until he's waived on April 12?
Would they really
let him go for nothing? seems like they might find a spot for him (send sweeney down to AAA and let DJ ride the pine) until someone offers something for him. Of course they may think that nobody is ever gonna offer anything for him, in which case I don't understand why he's still on the team
Hail comrad monkeyball
And let this be the last time that I hear giants announcers for awhile.

Amen to that!
I had a hard time deciding which "announcing team" I loathed more on Sunday. K&K on FSN or M&M on ESPN.
I selected K&K on FSN because, even though it was an all Bay Area game, you wouldn't have known the A's were playing if you weren't watching. They'd rather spend a half inning talking about how some fan (who would make Lou Seal look like a poster child for Slim Fast) missed a foul ball than talk about what was going on in the game.
I would sort of expect that for an away game, but not one within spitting distance of the home ballpark.
Saturday's game wasn't much better. Hey, FSN, thanks for putting the "away" crew on the home broadcast.

Will BB crush Den and RSweeny's Confidence?
by allowing them to continue to fail at the MLB level before they are ready?
I'm not convinced
is he hitting the ball hard? ..its my understanding that his hit against the Sox was an oppo jam shot

Speaking of the other team's announcers
I was looking at the Extra Innings schedule for April.
Total A's games in April: 27
Games carried by EI: 24
Times they carry:
The Oakland feed: 6
The other team's feed: 18
PUT IT ON THE BOARRRRD...YESSSSS!!
That would drive me nuts if I were an NRAF. At least you get the Oakland feed for the Tuesday home opener.
ouch
that's why i thank god for gameday audio...15 dollars a season is not too much to pay for ken korach

I am an nraf
But I have a Slingbox, so I'm set... for the few games that are actually on TV in Oakland.
yeah
I'd gladly pay for MLB TV if they didn't arbitrarily decide that Oregon was blacked out for the Mariners, A's, Giants, and Padres.

As long as it's on EI
it doesn't really bother me.
"I have a strange urge to make copies." JediLeroy
chopped it into the ground
3B was playing in, but still would have been a tough play if he had been able to barehand it.
The A's colors are green and gold.
From the looks of it
listening to music on my headphones was a great choice for this inning.
The A's colors are green and gold.
Hannahan < Chavez defensively
Although, even with all the Gold Gloves, I don't think the difference is as much as Scutaro < Crosby at SS.
Yeah, I hit the POST button
about 1 second before that ball was hit. But, the more we saw Scutaro play SS, the more I appreciated the value of a plus defensive SS.
I agree, replace the Splash Hits with Infield Hits
Cause the Giants will be doing a lot of those this year, and not a whole lot of the former.
whooo!
that's the power of guilt in action

Barton won't take batting practice
until Tuesday. He says the weather is affecting his bad wrist and forearm.
Bad news -- it may be cold and showery all this next week.
dang
Maybe we should take up a collection and get him some humidity controlled plexiglass forearm terarriums.

The first road trip
includes 3 games in Cleveland and 2 in Chicago...neither likely to be very toasty in the second week of April.
Gaudin returns to the club April 12
someone will have to be taken off the 25 man roster -- DJ, another bench player -- or (shudder) a DL?

it doesn't sound bad enough to totally disable him ...
... and it only requires him to entirely curtail certain baseball activities, rest for 3 days or so at a time, and perform at something like 50% capacity.
Yup, he's an A.

Holy crap, amazing tag by Sweeney.
Crosby's throw was high, Sweeney had to jump and send the glove hand behind his back to tag out the runner. That was really neat.
better that than a little liliang-ish

Just more of a reason to consider it a small sample size.

Yeah, 40 errors in Spring really hurts.
I'm glad we don't have to go through that. Though I was nervous while watching Denorfia make some nice plays in right. Not because he made the plays, but because I pictured Cust botching the catch somehow.

Last year I diarized about technological solutions
but the feedback I got was that hardly anybody but Nico and me thought it was important enough to justify the expense.
1550 AM is usually ahead of 106.09 FM
at least at my place, so I usually have it on when the game is on TV
helps to read carefully
for some reason I read it as 106.9 being behind the TV
(hey it's spring training for me too!)
yesterday the tv was ahead of the radio, which was ok

Casilla's fastball doesn't look like it's moving as much...
Giant's announcers can't figure out who (Horton) made that play. It was a nice try.
boy, that slider sure is moving, though!

Eveland only threw 70 pitches?
I guess they took him out because they've scheduled 3 more guys to pitch in the game.
Feedback
Anyone else getting feedback on their mlbtv feed?
I hope we get to see him face a lefty next inning
"Not in your wildest alcoholic nightmare would you ever imagines such events unfolding!" Bill King
I hate to say it, but the Giants comercials
are actually pretty funny.
Its as if they stole our comercials (speaking of, where are they?)
Much different from their previous comercials which was just a black and orange screen saying "COME TO THE BALLPARK, WE HAVE PINOT NOIR!"
Would anyone in the entire world
make a point of going to an empty ballpark to watch Comcast unveil its new logo for FSN?

Krukow
I have the same problem I have with Hudler. I get the impression that he flat out makes up quotes from players. They just don't sound convincing. They sound too-Hudlerized. Or Krukowized I suppose.
ATT Keeps spamming those "switch to us, we're redsox fans" comercials
making me want to cancel my phone service.
Well, only a hour and 40 minutes
of potential productivity before the Nationals game starts. I hear the beginning may be very worthwhile.
The candy and the baseball all night long: )
Joe Morgan
who had the privilege of rubbing shoulders with athleticsgirl24 yesterday, will have to settle for chatting with George W. Bush in the ESPN broadcast booth tonight.
Duane Kuiper
I like how old Duane kept emphasizing how "these games dont count"...ex: "Sanchez finishes at 0-3 but thats ok, these games dont count". Whatever makes you feel better my friend.
Although any team playing Juan Pierre at DH
should immediately forfeit the game.
by green star oakland on Mar 30, 2008 3:41 PM PDT up reply actions
Indeed
Juan Pierre= overpaid, overrated garbage...he says he cant figure out why he might lose his job to Ethier, well let me help you out bud, youre supposed to be a leadoff hitter and your OBP is sorry at best and youre hitting well south of the mendoza line through spring training (with the most ST at bats of any player in Major League Baseball). Bottom line, you suck.
So was there any reason mentioned
for why Travis Buck came out of the game so early? I was getting a beer and missed his bunt single and by the time I got to my seat, he was out of the game! I was (am) so worried something happened to him.
Sunshine Biscuits? Yes, please.
I hope he's fine, but if not then...it's...

Rotoworld is reporting that...
Fiorentino was called up today from the minors. That could only mean one or two things, couldn't it? Buck is hurt or Ryan Sweeney is heading down.

to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone DL'ed (JINX!), sent down, DFA'ed or traded before Gaudin comes back.

I looked for confirmation elsewhere after I saw it on Rotoworld, but nothing from SuSlu or (not surprisingly) the A's official site. We'll see...

Link to commercial?
Hey guys, First post here, but lurking for quite a long time.
Anyways, I was at A's vs Giants game on saturday and they played a cool commercial on the big screen. It went through some of the memorable action during the 40 years at the coliseum. For example, It showed krazy george and said 'This is krazy', it showed Chavez and said 'This is gold', etc.
I liked it, and just wanted to see it again.
