This just in from Memphis..........
So This will be short and sweet. I will be posting more about it later, but I'm in Memphis with my mom and step dad for the CIvil rights game. He's a White Sox fan, I love Nick Swisher. I was all decked out in all my A's stuff AND represented TWICE on the jumbotron. It was cool!!! Anyway about 30 minutes ago, we're walking out of the game, against the crowd, a man walks, he brushes against me. It's Joe Morgan. In a fluid movment, I say to my step dad, "Hey it's Joe Morgan! JOE MORGAN YOU SUCK!!!" with him about 3 ft from me and loud enough for all to hear.
My grandfather raised me to hate the man.....even if he didn't, I feel I would've hated him on my own. I said before we got here "I'm going to find ESPN and tell Joe Morgan he sucks" Little did I know my dream would come true. I have fulfilled my grandfathers wishes!! Now off to Beale Street for some blues, bar-b-que, and beer!!!!!

You're not embarrassed?
That was totally rude.

Nah, sometimes a situation just calls for a good "you suck!"
For example, after a bad call at your kid's little league game: You suck, blue!"
Watching open-heart surgery: Hey Doctor McButterfingers! You suck!
While watching La Boheme downtown: Hey Puccini! You suck(ed)!

Yeah.
I'm not sure that's the coolest thing to do. He may not be the greatest announcer, but I don't know if he deserves that.

I think "Joe Morgan you suck" makes you look bad
But it would've been cool had you explained to him it's silly to hate sabermetricians because they unviersally believe he's one of the 3 best 2Bs of all time.

Wow.
Don't bother posting more about it later if the rest of it is like this.

Ballsy
Athletics fans aren't officially united in hatred for Morgan. He did play for the A's, after all.
I'm jealous that you were given the opportunity to say what I think.
Perhaps I would've phrased it differently, though.
Something a little more tactful, like, "You sir, Mister Joseph Morgan, suck."

Joe Morgan is a bit of a hack.
And a shining beacon of willful baseball ignorance. But saying it to his face is probably a little much.
Of course, I'm the guy who said to Billy Beane while standing at Will Call on April 1, 2002, "Carlos Pena is going to make you look like a genius". So, don't mind anything I say.

Youthful indiscretion...
Don't worry about it....I'm sure Joe's heard it before.
Besides, he's not all that bad. He gives us something to rant about and he has inspired a blog of his very own...sort of.
Perhaps it would have been better if you said, "Hey Joe, I have a message from my grandfather, but it wouldn't be polite to give it to you here."

Harsh, but entirely deserved
Morgan has made an entire career out of being a churlish, uninformed prick. Fully fitting that he get some of the same dished out to him.

Joe Morgan
does suck as an announcer and analyst of baseball. I probably wouldn't tell him he sucks though. I would have probably just yelled "Read Moneyball" or something.

You had the opportunity to meet Joe Morgan and you said that?
Wow. What a waste. The man's probably one of the top 20 players of the last half century. And a model citizen as far as I'm aware. With strong connections to Oakland. Is there anyone you do like?

Jesus Christ, people, calm down.
He said "You suck"
He didn't beat his mother, shoot his dog, or in any other way harm Joe Morgan.

today, of all days ...
... couldn't you at least have found a white numbskull broadcaster to brush up against?

Wow
You could have at least asked for his autograph first. I know he sucks but it is Joe Morgan after all, I mean the guy was a helluva ball player. People who live in glass blog should not throw baseballs, so I will reserve judgement. God knows I have done some pretty stupid things in my life.

Has Joe Kennedy taught us nothing?
If Joe Morgan drops dead tomorrow, athleticsgirl24 is going to feel very guilty and ashamed. Especially when her grandfather says, the next day, "Hey Joe, welcome to heaven - YOU SUCK!!!"

well, that's assuming that Joe, um, actually gets to...
I'm here to talk about the past.

Awesome.
I would've said the same if Joe Buck was around. Actually, I probably would've booed him.
I went to a Mets game last summer, and I was amazed how truly satisfying it is the watch and participate in a pitching getting booed off the mound after a poor performance. It's one of the greatest moments in baseball, and quite frankly, I wish fans out west would do more of it.
