I am currently debating which game I
should purchase, The SHOW or 2K8. Anyone have any insight? Thanks in advance.

The Show
I've never owned a play station, but decided to get a ps3 about 2 weeks ago with my tax return. The show is the only game i got with it, and it is amazing. Every player looks exactly like their true life counter parts, i'm talking facial hare, batting stance, pitching motion, sock height, undershirt length, everything, for everyone. The franchise mode is so much fun, you can control everything from ticket prices to the field condition, to adding massage rooms, and investing in medical care for your players. Something us A's fans can really get a kick out of. It's full of small details too, like at the end of an A's home game you can hear the PA announcer talking about BART service to Fremont/Richmond, and AC transit service stops outside the park. Go with the show, you won't be disappointed.

THE SHOW
I am assuming you have a PS3, my advice is if you can or only want to get one game then THE SHOW is it. It is the best sports game I have ever played and im going back to the old NES, it really is an accurate representation of the game. I played a game last night and was blown away by how they nailed almost every aspect of the game of baseball. Pitchers stepping off the mound, tv style commentary ,fan specific chants at different stadiums you name and its probably in the game. Include beautiful graphics and great game play and you can't go wrong.
As far as 2k8( I own both games) there seems to be a problem with the framerate as it seems that the game stutters at times and the animations looked forced at time. There as just too many little things wrong with this game to make it great like THE SHOW. The graphics are not as crisp and the announcing is getting old and repetetive basically if you have owned any previous versions of the game the commentary has not changed a bit. That being said i am enjoying both games, I just love baseball.

Did they ever fix the minor league/salary stuff?
That portion of the game was frankly horrendous in MLB 06. Do they at least have the players' real salaries programmed in now?

I have 2K8
... and although I haven't played the new version of the Show, I'd probably recommend that over 2K8. I was very pleased with the Show on PS2 in 07. I have an XBox 360 now, though, so I don't get to choose which game to buy. 2K brings some cool stuff-- mostly the controller interface for pitching and hitting-- but isn't as enjoyable overall. My 2 cents.

Show is by far better then 2k8. MVP from EA was better then both, but the Show is the closest thing to MVP.
Thanks for Gio. Anyone know how the other Gonzo is in the game?
