A's bar in Brooklyn ready to go for the 2008 season!
Hi, everyone,
You might remember my post near the end of last season--I own a West Coast bar in Brooklyn called Pacific Standard. We've got a huge projection screen and show as much West Coast sports as we can. We'll have the MLB package again this year and will be showing all the A's games since we're big fans from childhood. It was great to see A's fans last year--come out again this season. If you mention this post, we'll give you your first beer for $3.
Best,
John Rauschenberg

I don't know my way around Brooklyn.
Is this bar near Yankee stadium? Our family will be at the July 18 and 19th games. I'd like to meet up with friends after the game and if the bar is near...that'd work out well.
Are there any good snacks at the bar too?
Quite far
It's pretty far away, but doable. You can take the same train from the Stadium to the closest stop there in Brooklyn...it's probably about 45 minutes plus walking a few blocks.
Already have my tickets
Thanks, though. We'll have to bump into each other at some point. I'm going to the games on the 18th and 19th then taking Sunday to do some touristy stuff in NYC. I've never been, so there's a lot I need to see.

We are going to the same games.
We are going to be there the 14th -20th. We didn't want to stay for the game on the 20th because we are taking all of our gilrs(adults in their 20s) and son-in-law with us on the trip and some of them need to be back at work Monday morning.
Did you get good seats? We ordered our tics through stubhub.
What's the nearest subway station? Pacific St?
B,M,N,R?
Do you stay open late for the west coast games?
I definitely commented on this already...
I don't know where my comment went, but I can't wait to catch some games there this summer.
Directions to the bar/further info
You can find directions to the bar here, on our website:

We're open until 4 am every night, so yes, you'll be able to catch all the West Coast games.

Brooklyn...the Oakland of the East
I like Brooklyn. It reminds me of Oakland, except a lot more gentrified. Oakland is to SF, as Brooklyn is to Manhattan.
Too bad I don't live out there or else I'd be there. I'll definitely have to check it out next time I'm in NYC.
Are you showing tonight's game?
And while we're at it -- does anyone know any place west of the Hudson River (or even the East River) that's showing it?

I'll be there
for the A's series in July also (tix for the 18th and the 20th), but I'll make a point of stopping in at some point during our stay. Thanks for posting!
OMG
I was looking at your website, and I think I went to Berkeley with Jon and we were in band together. Even more of a reason to stop by now. Go Bears!

thanks for the update.
I forgot all about this bar. I'm heading out there this summer, prob in late july, early Aug.
Attending Yankee Stadium
Wear your A's gear at your own risk--what you have to understand is that the Stadium is for Yankee fans! Get there early and try to visit monument park.
I was planning to wear A's gear...
Is it really that bad? BobbyCrosby'sgirl said that she had no problem last year.
