Say, probably a nerdy question, but does anyone know about the chartered 747 the A's flew to Japan? What airline or what markings were on it?

Did anybody go to the airport and see them off?

there was a whole thread

about 2 planes the Sox chartered (one for players which went to Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, Tokyo, a JAL 747, the other for executives and fans) on an airplane forum but not a word about the A's. Sad

I think I saw it!!!

It flew over my house. It had two wings and a tail and said "Japan or bust' written with white shoe polish on the windows. Oh yeah, and there was a guy hanging from the landing gear....
