Break out the welcome wagon...err...boat!
Yadel Marti, a stud pitcher for Cuba, who dominated in the WBC, and Yasser Gomez, a great hitting, fast outfielder, are apparently at this very moment out in the Atlantic negotiating the treacherous waters between Cuba and Florida.
I say Billy and Co. should immediately hop a plane to Florida and sign these guys, on the beach, before the Yankees, Red Sox, Scott Boras or Somali pirates swoop in and snatch them up.
Ok, maybe I am being just a little silly, but isn't the business of baseball amazingly bizzare? I mean, literally, in a moment's notice, the landscape changes and potentially great players materialize out of thin air! Or, salt water for that matter!

apparentally both guys are major league ready...
Marti is highly coveted and will probably get a big contract, whereas I hear Gomez is not as valued. Either seems to be a great deal.
Only problem is that their is word they may not get travel documents and immigration issues done with in time to play for the 2009 season…
Interesting
Not the best pictures (poorer camera than what I have now), but…

He struggled a little against the Dominican Republic but didn’t allow a run in 4 1/3 innings in the semi-final game.

Since we'll probably be dissecting his stats anyway...
His hugging seems a little aloof. Not really a five tool affection provider.
He does seem distant,
like he doesn’t care that the teammate he is caressing has what appears to be a very painful wedgie.
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal
It LOOKS painful, but it's a dramatic improvement on earlier models

How come...
everything we talk about today is either going in or coming out of my a@#
Still my favorite episode
Marti sounds like he might be a good sign
Gomez would just add another Sweeney type, not really what the A’s need.
Seems like idle speculation, but Inoa would have seemed like idle speculation 12 months ago too, so who knows.

OTOH, while Yadel may be a better fit for the A's' needs,
… Yasser — that’s my baby.
