A note from Ken Korach
For those of you who participated in the "Winning For The Community" charity drive, you've probably already received a letter from Detra Paige, the A's Director of Community Relations, with a few words of thanks and their Tax ID number for tax filing purposes.
In today's mail was a hand-written thank you card from Ken Korach, which I think is an extra, nice touch. At first I thought it was a Christmas card the A's were sending out, then I saw what it really was.
That he took the time to write a quick note to each person who donated says a lot about him, I think. I'm glad I decided to participate and so should everyone else who joined in.

If you're wondering what happens if you DON'T give,
in today’s mail I got a card from Vince Cotroneo that said, “Fuck you!” It was hand-written, though, which I thought was a nice touch.
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

I didn't think Vince was ever that concise.
Class acts by them both, though.

Yeah but,
you could tell he wrote it without much passion.

I got a card from Glen Kuiper.
“Merry… Merry… if it’s late December it’s Merry Christmas… let me check the calendar… Merry Christmas! Christmas? Or Hanukkah? Seasons Greetings!”
Ray: "How fun is it to be up here playing in the Big Leagues?"
Gio: "It's *SUPER* fun!!!"

Better than the one I got from the Giants:
“Merry X-Mas, meat. God almighty I’m cool! See how I use those expressions and x people out and stuff? I threw a good curve ball 112 years ago. Do you like my hair?”

Korach is one of the nicest gentlemen
in all of baseball. Just an incredible class act. It doesn’t surprise me at all. The fact that he’s the best in the business is just gravy.
