Oh, Rickey, you're so fine
To my great shame, I must admit I haven't even been reading AN regularly for the last couple of months, let alone contributing. So I apologize, if someone linked to this already, but I just love me Joe Posnanski and this topic belongs here.

There is no such thing as too many Rickey posts.
Awesome, btw.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again
Any voter not voting Rickey in on the first ballot, needs to have his eligibility to vote permanently revoked on the basis of mental deficiency or whatever they call it when the VP takes over b/c the POTUS is unable to lead. Granted, yes, there have been plenty of just as deserving players to not receive unanimous ballots, but really, in this day and age, what would be considered legitimate justification to say ‘no’ on the first ballot? I would really want to know if there’s any collusion going on. Do voters call their fellow voters to get an idea of how many others are saying yes? Are there any voters/vigilantes out there that consider themselves guardians of the perfect vote? I’d be very curious to find out which voters have the highest percentage of first ballot ’no’s so that I could compare Rickey to those that he voted ‘yes’ on the first ballot.
Maybe I’m getting preemptively worked up, but I’m quite expecting Rickey to not get in unanimously due to some self-serving douchebag(s) who will only vote yes for the ‘perfect’ baseball player, whatever that may be.
