Say a prayer for the Zito family
Hi everyone. I hope everyone is having a peacful and lovely holiday. I just wanted to pass on some sad news from my friend Pavlos. His sister is very close friends with Barry Zito and I'm sad to report that Barrry's mother, Roberta, passed away few days ago.
Apparently, she had been sick for some time and finally laid to rest on Tuesday. As an A's fan I am familiar just how close Barry was to his mom and of course many of us can relate to the loss of a parent or close loved one.
I was hoping that we could all say a prayer for Barry and his family in their time of need and remember that there are things more important than baseball.....RIP Roberta.

So sad
I had read an article right after she had passed and it truly very sad and my heart goes out to Barry and his family. Nothing hurts more then losing someone we love. And yes, as A’s fans I think we all know how close Barry was to his mother. I wish him the best. Always.

"If you hit .440 with 20 bombs, you don't have to do s---. You don't have to bring a glove to practice, just hit and leave whenever you want. You can bring a 40 and smoke a cigarette and call me from the parking lot asking me what time the game is, and I'll tell you. You can even say 'F--- you, Steve!' Actually, don't say that, that wouldn't be very nice." -Steve Friend, Head Coach, Chabot College Gladiators Baseball

Condolences to the Zitos.
It’s always a sad day when a baseball Mom passes away. TY to Roberta for her part in helping Barry reach his baseball potential. I enjoyed him and he was a great help to the A’s org. when he played here. I am sure that she had many fine accomplishments in her life and I am sorry that she didn’t live longer.

Indeed
Well, from what I know she isn’t in all that pain anymore. I told my friend’s sister to give our collective condolences to Barry and his family.
