Where are they now? Cape Cod League edition
Last month, my mom and I went to Cape Cod for a family wedding. Since the mom enjoys seeing presidential libraries and such, we went to the JFK Museum in Hyannis. In a moment of serendipity, we found out that the Cape Cod Baseball League's Hall of Fame and Museum had just opened in the basement of the JFK Museum last July.
We ventured on down...
I got excited... (yeah, I know... no real relation, but you have to admit they have a great logo and mascot!)
The hallway as you exited the elevator...
...and I saw that they had some leftover media guides for the Wareham Gatemen. I grabbed one, thumbed through it, and what should I see....
Nice to hear what he's up to. :)

He gave my fiancee a baseball after a game in Chicago once
Went into the dugout to get it, came back out, and flipped it to her.
I’m glad he’s still in baseball.

I never knew why he left the A's....
was it because Chavez the Lessor needed a baseball job?

Good post - thanks!
My grandparents, and now parents, live in Chatham so I grew up a fan of the Chatham A’s. I love looking back at my old programs that I’d get autographed to find names like Jeff Bagwell, Dmitri Young, Jason Bay, David DeJesus, Eric Byrnes, Brian Roberts, etc. I’ll have to check out the museum next time I’m back home.
Interestingly the Chatam A’s and the other Cape League teams have been just recently told they can’t use MLB team names without paying some exorbitant sums for licensing, so the Chatam A’s are from now on going to be the Chatham Anglers. Appropriate, as it was first and foremost a fishing town.
