Ziggy Shirt Design Update
Hey everyone.
Sorry to "spam" AN with this again, but I heard further from Brad about the shirt design. I'd let him know one of you had the idea about blanking out the high socks and I hadn't found a way to do it that satisfied me. He liked the idea and I worked on it again along with changing the arm. I think the results came out much better and much more stylish than I first thought.
Old:
New:
For those of you who wanted shirts, don't worry about the brighter background. It's just a base and I have a single color done with just the gold on a darker green shirt comparable to the ones the A's wear under their jerseys.
If you want a shirt, there's still time. I'm just going to get Brad's thoughts on the redesign first. The original post is here.
Thanks again!

There wasn't really much of a sleeve to change there.

Count me in for an order!
Is there ordering information on the original thread? (I suppose I could click through to find out, of course.)

Yes indeed ;-) And thanks.

Great — I'll be in touch soon!
BTW, do you have a sense of how this manufacturer’s shirts fit compared to the jersey t-shirts that are sold in the team store? Those are my best (possibly mutual) points of reference.
by PositionPlayerProd on Oct 21, 2008 12:54 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Not sure. I haven't bought any of the jersey t-shirts
If you follow that link to the Uberprints site, you can check their sizing chart. I can get by with 2XL shirts but I like the extra length of a 3XL and it fits very comfortably. YMMV, of course.

Are you still just taking ordering info or do I need to send money?
I’d like one in XL. Let me know what to do.
I actually like the green in the example above.
I blame Englishmajor.

Still taking ordering info, thanks!
Just send me an e-mail with your name. I’m putting everyone in a list so I can contact them quickly.

Quick opinion check
A little more tweaking after talking with Brad again.
This?

Or this?

I personally like the original; just the one sleeve
With both it looks kinda weird. The one with no color on the sleeves is ok too, though!!

Socks and one sleeve only is my vote.
I blame Englishmajor.

I second the socks-and-one-sleeve vote.
(Or I guess I’m thirding it, counting #14fan.)
The one with the little bit of left sleeve outline looks like his glove is Australia hanging by a couple of strings…

The second one . . .
That is, the one with socks, but No sleeves.

I second socks-and-no-sleeves
I think the sleeve makes his throwing hand look like it is wearing a glove…

Yeah, I was thinking that too.
Like he wears a special pitching glove or something.

One more vote
for green sox, no sleeves!
by jay_sensei on Oct 21, 2008 7:19 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Quick note
Brad likes it with the sleeves marked out partially because he doesn’t want to be known JUST for high socks. ;-) We kind of joked around that a little.
I’m leaning toward going with that first option, probably thickening the lines just a bit.

Can you give him a peg leg and a hook for a hand?
An eye patch and a parrot on his shoulder, I think, would really complete the look.
“Ziggy Sparrow?!?! He’s the worst closer I’ve ever heard of!”
“Ah! But you have heard of him!”
No? Well, maybe if he gets traded to Pittsburgh someday…
I blame Englishmajor.

That late?
How about 90 minutes before first pitch?

Too true!
Come to think of it, I have seen eBay auctions for SGA items for games which were still several weeks away!

How do we order them?
What is the e-mail address we send our order to?
The older I get the better I was!

Here's the link with the info
You can reach me at flashfire at speakeasy dot net.
I’m probably placing the order tomorrow and I’ll be contacting everyone on my list about how to pay. This is the final version (Brad definitely likes having the arm sleeves ’visible’):

Why the heck does he have a say in it?!?! :)
I’m going to color mine in with a tophat, a monocle and a handlebar moustache, but black out several of his teeth, then add the caption “Baron Von Ziggleheim, Emperor of Lazy Acres Trailer Park and Mental Asylum”
j/k, of course.
Probably…
I blame Englishmajor.

Quick note
I placed my order today with the following breakdown and what’s currently left available after everything has been accounted for by those ordering:
1 YXS (0 available)
1 YM (0 available)
5 S (0 available)
10 M (1 available)
20 L (4 available)
25 XL (0 available)
5 2XL (3 available)
5 3XL (0 available)
72 total
If you missed out on a size you’d have liked, I apologize, but I told those who contacted me when I’d be placing the order and didn’t want to let it extend past today. I can’t guarantee doing another run of shirts, either.
To those who did order, thank you very much. This has ended up being much more than I could have hoped for.

7 S (2 available)
10 M (1 available)
23 L (6 available)
