Open Thread: NLCS Game Three
In a series most memorable so far for Brett Myers' hits, Chase Utley's walks, "Shane Victorino, RBI masheeeeeen!!!" and Manny being Manny, it's a must-win for the Dodgers as the NLCS moves to the insufficiently Mexican confines of Chavez Ravine.
Jamie Moyer, whose age/fastball velocity ratio currently sits at 45:81, takes the very hill he is over for the Phillies, while the Dodgers counter with right-hander Hiroki Kuroda. Philadelphia leads the best-of-seven series two games to none.
The starting lineups are below - first pitch is scheduled for 5:22pm PDT.

Ethier's good - but the A's can also reasonably hope
to get similar productivity out of Buck, Cunningham, or Sweeney so at least they let go a good player at a position of depth and possibilities.

I may be a minority of one around here...
…but I come from a long line of Red Sox fans (rooting for the Sox was a central part of my second-generation Jewish-American grandpa’s identity) and I always kind of liked them.
The vast recent expansion of Red Sox fandom to include all sorts of Yankee-fan-like boneheads who like to root for General Motors (c. 1950s….rooting for the Orioles is like rooting for today’s GM) has significantly cooled whatever 2nd-favorite-team fervor I once had for the Red Sox.
But I still kind of like them.
And baseball doesn’t belong in a dome.
