Nicknames?

One of the great things about A's Nation is the creative use of nicknames for many of our beloved boys. Since we are always getting new players (especially this year), it calls for new nicknames. Any ideas for the new guys? I'm not so thrilled about the fact that we signed Emil Brown, but I do think he could be called "Jannings" or "Und the Detectives." Too arcane? Any other ideas for him or anybody else?

But I think it's the rest of the team who have to be "the Detectives", right? Let's just hope we aren't tempted to start calling them "Emil and the Defectives".

Beane went on to liken the Winter Meetings to pet hamsters who eat their young.

If he gets snarky: Emil-y Mouthed

If he kicks ass: Emil-iorated

If he takes a lot of walks: Brown Eye

If he sucks ass: Bad Bad Emil Brown (Baddest Cat in the Whole Damn Town)

We should play Jack Cust at shortstop for a week, just so we can feel good about Crosby again.

yeah, Nicknames should come naturally

Well... "Unicorn" isn't really a nickname.

You can probably keep that one around for a while

Dee Brown is sadly no longer with the A's, but Emil, Andrew, Jeremy and Corey should maintain a healthy population of Browns on the roster until at least 2014 or so.
