Oakland...The New Area 51?

Yes, I know there's already a certain Las Vegas Minor League team with dibs on the name. But with the activation of Esteban Loaiza from the DL, the A's have now used a record 51 players on their roster since the start of the season.

It's great that the A's are playing well, but if you want an additional distraction, I offer this nostalgic look at those 51 players, categorized into CURRENTLY ON ACTIVE ROSTER, CURRENTLY ON DL, CURRENTLY WITH SACRAMENTO and NO LONGER WITH ORGANIZATION. (Let me know if you find any errors...I used Baseball-Reference.com as a resource.

Right you are...

I would say welcome to Portland Hiram, but apparently he's gone back to Puerto Rico with an injury according to his website.

I'll add him to the NO LONGER WITH ORGANIZATION list.

Are you not counting Denorfia

because he hasn't played, or was it an oversight?

Because he hasn't played...

These are all players who were on the active roster at some point during the season.
