Kendall sucks in AL...but the NL?
Having a hard time not feeling a little angry at Kendall. I mean here is a career .300 hitter who was the posterboy for GIDP while with the A's. Now what is he doing?
Kendall has nice game as No. 2 hitter
Jason Kendall - C - CHC - Aug. 16 - 1:22 am etJason Kendall had a two-run homer and an RBI double as the Cubs' No. 2 hitter on Wednesday.
Perhaps manager Lou Piniella will leave Kendall at the bottom of the order against righties, but it was nice to see him moved up against the lefty tonight. Kendall is batting .311 with 12 RBI and 11 walks in 22 games for the Cubs. Aug. 16 - 1:22 am et

It's probably just a change of scenery.
That, or the NL just isn't as good as the AL.

not necessarily that the NL sucks
but I think Kendall is just more comfortable in the National League. He played there for awhile with Pittsburgh so he must have grown accustomed to it. There are certain players that sign with the NL or AL teams because of this comforts they have in certain leagues. (EX: Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Scott Rolen, etc.)

Just having a hot few weeks...
He hot stretches of .300 for the A's in 20 game segments too.....He still sucks.

Yeah, he was hitting .289 for the A's...
..at one stage, but only if you ignore his previous two months.
Crash and burn imminent.

If anything, his time in Oakland was the...
...exception to the norm over his career.
I'm disappointed he didn't hit well here, but he's always been capable at the plate.

No need to bash the guy but it was just time
for him to fly. Sometimes a situation can benefit two parties and I think this is a good example of that. Suzuki is ready to be the starting catcher and I sure haven't missed Kendall much since he left.

I have a theory that Lou was put on Earth by God
to give men succulent rubb downz.

the simple fact is that
the NL is an inferior league, just look at the pitchers he faces on a day to day basis, and the parks he plays in, Chicago, Cincy, Houston, Philadelphia, all band boxes with generally awful pitching.

I think it's the A's clubhouse..
once he got out of it, he feels better and playing better.
He definitely sucked with the A's for the most part, but as of late, I bet he was just happy to move on and get out of Oakland and away from the clubhouse drama

yeah because the cubs don't have clubhouse drama
with the pitcher fighting the catcher and lou pinella as the manager.

That's why he wanted...
...a contract extension before the season started, right?

pinch hit rbi double today
the funny thing is that his pitcher coaching, to the degree that means anything, has been horrible. that staff is pitching like total garbage in the past couple of weeks, zambrano included.
my theory is that he consciously decided not to even bother learning the new pitching crew, and instead has put his focus on the pat and good backstop D. same as with the a's - two roles well, one role horribly. in any case, the gun is also a tick or two slower than it was - that's fallen off from his excellent 50% or so throwout average in the first 100 games.

Billy Beane sucks the soul out of certain players
But once they are out of his reach, they come back to life.

Yes, he feeds off of happiness
rendering everyone around him incapable of feeling anything other than despair. And occasionally he sucks someone's soul out through their mouth.
Luckily, Nick Swisher is an expert at the Patronus charm.

even in Oakland Kendall's offense
usually seemed to benefit when he wasn't playing every day; the rest seemed to help him....plus he's said that Wrigley Field was his alltime favorite place to play. Nice hitter's park, perhaps?
