5-12, Since The Beane Fired The Straw:

Stay connected for news and updates

When the A's acquired Milton Bradley a year and a half ago there were many opinions of him. Some thought he was a hot head and a cancer. Others, like me, saw that his teams were always better with him in the line-up than they were with him out of it.

The A's are following suit with his past teams as they are now 5-12 without him.

We will never know the entire story, but I do know this.

The 72-74 A's do not win without Reggie and neither do the Yankees of the late 70's. For all the trouble Daryl Strawberry was off the field, he sure was integral on it. The list goes on and on.

I know that Bradley's health limited him from playing, BUT, he was healthy when he was released and we have now lost the cheaper part of our Championship run last year. Frank Thomas and Milton were players that you feared late in games.

Who on our team now makes the opposition fear them...At the plate?

Yes, AN, Saint is bummed...Really bummed.

We didn't even save money on releasing Bradley. This was a true Beane Blunder.

Like him or not, Milton was the straw that stirred the drink for our A's.

Milton scored as many runs as our whole offense this weekend and he stole a base. He is hitting 5th for the Padres and playing LF.

I expect the poll below to be split, but I really wonder why some people think it was a good move.
