AN Trading Post 7-23-07 (A's stuff to trade)

With AN day coming up, this is the perfect opportunity to start another session of AN Trading Post. People can arrange their deals here and finish them at AN Day. And with 3 of the 4 bobbleheads of the season distributed, just a comment on the Mike Piazza bobblehead: As an attempt to alleviate the problem of the all-too-common Broken Bat Syndrome, the Piazza BH was designed with a detachable bat that is packaged along side the BH, the first time I've ever seen this done with a bobblehead. The bat has a tiny screw emebedded in the bottom with a matching nut glued into Piazza's top hand. Good idea, but precision is not a word I'd use to describe the workmanship of a bobblehead.

Star-divide

Ok, on the the Trading Post. For those of you who may not have seen this before, just list what you've got to trade and if there's something specific you're looking for. Here's mine:

To Trade:
2 Mike Piazza bobbleheads
1 Milton Bradley BH
1 Dan Haren BH
1 NWT(new with tags) XL(48) green mesh pullover A's jersey with sewn Athletics emblem across the chest.
1 XL(48) A's hockey jersey, white version. Very lightly used.
1 A's visor with stars and stripes emblem.

Looking for:
A's jersey with red, white and blue emblems from old 4th of July games.
A's cap, red, white and blue with adjustable strap.
1 Bobby Crosby bobblehead
2 Nick Swisher BH's. LH and/or RH.
1 Dave Stewart bobblehead.
Willing to substitute/add cash if necessary to any deal.

What have YOU got!?!?

Cards

Just spent the last three weekends going through five boxes old basball cards from the '60's thru 90's with my 8 year old.  I got one of those picture frames for Father's Day that holds 20 baseball cards.  It was a good excuse to go through the cards with my son.

To trade:
Cards.  Got some old cards of players who are now afiliated with the A's and may show up at AN Day 4 - Beane, Geren, Curt Young.  Also, have Lach and Fosse but not enough cards to trade.  Maybe some of these folks will show.  Maybe they will sign.

Looking for:
Swish BH (my son is a big Swisher fan)

I've got crap to trade, but here goes

Have:

4 zito neckties
zito figurine
Frank Thomas Bobblehead

Want:

A's alarm clock. (game September 2nd) This one is kids only and I don't have a kid or one I can borrow.  If any of you have kids who don't want their alarm clock, I'd be up for a trade or possibly cash/ticket transaction.  Lemme know!

I've got a copy of "The Sinister First Baseman," featured on the one and only AN book club oh so long ago.

I probably won't be at the game that day, but

you can borrow my kids.  Please?  They hardly eat anything at all.  One caveat:  don't count on actually watching the game much.

I hope you packed a lunch.

They'll still let you have it

Or they better.  I want the damn backpack this year.  They give the ties to everyone and the bags to everyone.  There is no way that 10,000 kids will be at the game.

I think that's too early in the year for them.  I must mold them into A's fans (yes, I'm evil and have nothing better to teach).

Yo

While I don't have physical A's memorabilia to trade, I'd be more than happy to print out poster-size photos I've taken. I have pretty much any (regular) player, plus a lot of former A's.

Most of the photos were taken during Spring Training, but I have regular season ones too. The ST pictures just came out a lot better.

Quick inventory:
Zito (A's, Giants pics)
Haren
Huston
Embree
Chavez
Swisher
Buck
Bradley
Scutaro
Calero
Blanton
Suzuki
Kendall
Harden
Stewart
plus many more

I can make them all postery-looking, like such.

I'd be willing to trade a poster or any size photo for a bobblehead (i.e. the upcoming Mark Ellis one or a past Zito one) or another cool A's promotion that I'll miss.

Didn't you move recently? Go ahead and email me your address and I'll get the book in the mail no matter what. It's in great condition. No bent pages, not worn, etc.

Bonderman bobblehead

I've got a bunch of Jeremy Bonderman bobbleheads from his time with the Modesto A's. They're actually made by the Modesto Nuts in 2006. If interested, email me @ spiderdad23@yahoo.com. Thanks

Seeking anything, anything at all on The Streak

I was fortunate enough to get a copy of There Is An 'A' In Streak - The Story Of The 2002 Amazin' A's from PositionPlayerProd in the winter of 2006 so I hope some people will take Allen up on his offer.  It truly is a fun little video, even if I wanted it to be a little longer and more in-depth.

That said, does anyone have anything else related to The Streak?  Be they tapes of any of the actual games (I would love to somehow track down Game 18, where Miggy hit the walkoff homer against Easy Eddie), newspaper clippings, or anything else, I would be deeply indebted to anyone who had anything related to that magical run.  I don't have extras of any of my A's treasures, but I'd gladly pay for anything that people might have to offer

Edited to add

That really, I would love to track down any videos at all that have to do with the A's and their history.  I have the World Series Collection DVD, I have the aforementioned There Is An 'A' In Streak, I have a DVD from the 2000 season entitled These Guys Can Play, and I even was able to find a video buried in my stuff back home called Champions By The Bay (although that one is slightly tainted by the fact that it devotes as much time to the Giants as it does to the A's).  All of that said, if anyone has any other videos or DVDs on the A's, regardless of what they're about, regardless of their quality, I would love to track them down and, at the very least, get a copy of any of them.  Let me know, eh?

I have a baseball card that commemorates The Streak. It was produced by eTopps, meant as an electronic card only, but I was so enthused by it that I requested to get mine sent to me. Here's a link to the card.

South Dakota A's fan

As an A's fan living out in South Dakota, you can imagine the difficulty that I have getting any A's memorabilia.  I went to AN day last year, and met some of you, and as my sig says, lol, I was the first to get Blez autograph.

Anyway, I would be interested in any and all memorabilia that you have extra of, or would be willing to part with.  I have one friend that helps me out now, but can always use more friends "S".

Thanks,

Other stuff I have....

I have a Mr. Potato Head A's jersey, hat, bubble gum & 'stache, baseball bat and hands/arms. I assume these fit a "normal" Mr. Potato Head, but I'm really not sure since the one I have was purchased at the same time as these items. (I have a duplicate set of items, because I thought it was ridiculous to pay the same price for six items as it was for twelve, so I got a backup set....never know when you might lose an arm....)

I have a 2006 Video Game Challenge Battle of the Bay MS Charity event t-shirt, size medium.

I have plastic cups. Lots of them. No seriously, lots. Perfect for BBQ's, out of town guests, etc....

I'm always looking for bobbleheads (I have none, so I need all). I won't be at AN Day, but I'd be happy to ship to an A's fan. :)
