if the a's break out offensively this game with crosby batting fifth and scutaro playing third. its almost as if geren decided that the lineup doesnt matter any more.

interesting that wash brought howe in as a coach.  a lot of guys who be too self-conscious to bring back their former boss in that situation.  credit to wash.  credit, too, to lead the AL in sacrifices, showing that although he was with the A's all of those years, he wasn't drinking the cool aid.  can't remember how many times hatteberg made useless outs 2 years ago when the a's really needed a sacrifice.
