chavvy's real injury issue?
did anybody catch this article, mentioning chavez having a nerve problem, not tendinitis? maybe this explains why he's been swinging the bat much better the last few weeks? the article is really encouraging, pointing out that they've been able to treat him much more precisely for his woes. on the other hand, it means the a's medical staff missed yet another diagnosis for about 2 months w/ chavvy - i know, its tough to pinpoint things sometimes, but they consistently miss things. does this mean the old chavvy is back? because that would be fantastic.

Chavvy
He certainly looks a lot better at the plate, but most importantly, he looks like he's having a lot more fun playing baseball.

After reading it
I don't see this has a "missed diagnosis" so much as a difficult ailment to track and treat. Guy has a history of tendonitis, shows signs that he has it again, try treating it. Doesn't work? Step back and see what else could be wrong. Hate to tell you this, but this is what nearly every doctor I've ever been to has done (good or bad). They aren't magicians, they can't magically make pain go away and they aren't gods, with the ability to look at you and know what's wrong. Most of these ailments don't really have solid dianostic tools to use. Not to mention they're relying on patient's ignorant knowledge of the problem more often than not which can be horribly flawed, inconsistent and worst, incomplete.

OT
I think we should hire House MD as our diagnostician. Hell even Jack Shephard is looking good when compared to the A's medical staff.

I say we hire Jack Bauer ...
... perhaps as Slusser's replacement. That'll get some information out of Beane ...

Chavez mentioned this in post game
interview the other night. He says he feels good for the first time in a long time and credits the A's medical staff, his own doctor, and his chiropractor. I don't care as long as the guy is back to being healthy. He say's he is and his deeds are matching his words. Good for him.

I am glad to hear chavy feeling better
but it is really pathetic that the A's have such a horrible medical staff. Maybe that is why half the team is on the disabled list fucking patheitc.

Well...
It can still be argued that Chavvy should get his shoulder fixed. I'm almost sure there is at least a minor tear in there. Is it affecting his swing? I don't know. Has it affected his throws? yep.

CC Times, please tell us
what's the doctors' magic bullet for "nerve problems." I kept expecting the article to disclose what they treated Chavy with, but there was no payoff.
