AN Midwest Day(s)
Ok well here we are again - AN Midwest Day(s). Wasn't even going to put this up because the schedule makers didn't do us any favors having the only visit during the week -- guess the last 3 years (all weekend series) make up for it.
I just hope it isn't deja vu like last year with all of the crappy weather --- http://www.weather.com/outlook/trave... Then again the Loaiza start never happened - can't figure out if that was because of the mass quantities of beer consumed or the rain out. Somebody help me out.
Right now I know it will be myself, Ohtobe, Sportswyn, Greg and Nebraska who will be there. Anybody else is more than welcome to join us. Any of the regulars have a mini grill they can bring?
Tomorrow will be a great day because I find out if my first child is a boy (please please please) and I get to see the A's.

Hope you guys have a great time!
Kansas city is a littel far for me to catch a game. But I would love to visit the park! It looks like a gorgeous venue to catch a game. I feel sorry for the fans....because they have to watch the Royals.
Hey, don't be so quick to knock the girls! I too wanted a son...he eventually arrived 3 daughters and 15 years later! But man, I wouldn't have traded my time with the girls for anything. Playing sports with the girls was a blast! The best part is that when they're 20 years old they still call me Daddy! And there is nothing comparable to eating a meal your little girl cooked for you. Good times ahead for you....no matter how it goes in the gender department. Enjoy!
Don't get me wrong...
I just want a healthy baby. If it happens to be a girl I know that I will be done for. She will have me wrapped around her finger before even being born. My first child and being a girl --- I have no chance, she will be spoiled rotten.
No worries...
I know exactly how you feel. I went through it four times. There is nothing like having a son....unless it's having a daughter. They're both unique experiences! It's funny though, all my girls are teenagers and beyond....and at this point I wonder who's taking care of who! They're all great kids and have never given me or my wife any heartache.
The really wierd thing is that my son is five years old. Talk about spoiled. He thinks every females sole point for existing is to serve him. So far he's been absolutely right. As a father of a son, I can't wait for his upcoming dissillusionment! Talk about spoiled. As a good father, I will be waiting there to gloat and to torment him unmercifully when reality wields its cruel hand!
Looking forward to seeing the A's and AN!
I'll see you guys around 3:00 tomorrow and plan on bringing plenty of A's gear to prepare for any weather. Oh... beer and food too!
Congratulations on Li'l Stomper!! Hopefully your child will either be a future "A" or if you're blessed with a girl... a BIG A's fan!

Aw.
Congratulations! Good luck!
What time do the gates open?
I thought...
that was a bizarre way to ask about the due date.
HA!
QOTM
Which numeral for MW AN Day- 3 or 4?
The last couple of years that we have had multiple series have made it confusing. I think we called the second series ".5" to keep it clear but still can't remember how many.
We might want to meet at Chappel's for lunch on Wednesday and check out all of the A's stuff that Charlie Finley gave the owner? I highly recommend going to this place for anyone that visits old KC and loves the A's. They have a 1989 World Series A's trophy (one of several they issue) right next to the cash register.

really cool stuff. I've only seen it peering through the windows. I'm eager to check it out from inside.

I'm looking forward to it
I'll be showing up at the K sometime around 3-4, after I drop some stuff off at my hotel. I'm staying at the Super 8 two miles up the interstate, anyone else?
I'd bring my mini-grill, but it's a little under the weather since it's been in my garage (read: not clean at all). I'll bring a cooler and some frsoty Coors, though. I think I owe "ohtobe" a couple, since I ran out last time and borrowed some.
Sorry, folks, my mini-grill won't be making the trip this year. It doesn't work properly, and the hinge is broken...
Also, maybe this year we can make it out that restaurant in KC that has an A's World Series trophy from '89?
Nice display of sportsmanship
I hope we don't run out of good weather by the time you guys get around to showing up.
smith1501 is probably already at the "K" firing up the grill!

we will be there hopefully around 6pm on wed....
and I won't forget to bring my matisyahoo cd with me for the pre-game music.
Not yet...
beer is on ice and we are heading to the doctor.
I wasn't able to find one of those Coleman mini grills but will look for one on the way out of town.
I have a little grill that I will....
see if it is working. Sprtsnwyn and I will bring it along for Wednesday if i can find it. I will post later on this evening if I will be bringing it.
I'll be there
wednesday and thursday so keep a beer handy.
Congrats Tim
Tim, congrats on the baby. It's too bad the series was mid-week, I can't get away from work to make the 8 hour drive. I had a blast in 2005 when we setup the original Midwest AN Day, I'm going to have to get back out there next year. Have a great time, Go A's!
Found the grill...
and it's working. About 4 hours away from departing with Sprtsnwyn from ICT. Lets Go A's.
Charcoal grill
Ohtobe actually bought a little charcoal grill so we'll bring that one as well.
I had to get one because Brats were mandatory.
They go down well with a cerveza. See you guys about 6:00 or so.
Matisyahu, eh? I thought we might compile a list of Kyle's least favorites and play them over and over.
