A's trade for Cust
The SF Chron has just announced that the A's have acquired Jack Cust from the Padres' AAA affiliate for cash + a PTBNL.

The article is here.
"The 28-year-old, who was in camp with the A's two years ago, is batting .295 with eight homers and 19 RBIs in 24 games with Portland this year. He's likely to be in the lineup Friday at Tampa Bay."
You knew something HAD to happen. What do you guys think-- will we stop at Cust?
Cust has been down in AAA for awhile, and has been one of Beane's targets for awhile (along with DOYLE).

It's not April 1.
Damn, now we need a new stock sarcastic response!
Is that Ross Gload's brother?
Is he as awesome as Ross is?
Logical short term move
It's worth giving Cust a shot. I'm guessing the PTBNL will be someone on the 40-man roster, maybe Donnie Murphy given the A's middle infield glut at AAA.
PTBNL will be
Snelling. Then the A's will trade Cust for the PTBNL in the Langerhans deal and it will be a full circle.
Beane did say...
he was looking for "just a beating heart ... plasma that we'll put into our uniform." A.K.A. - DH

Portland and Sacramento closed for the season...
...due to lack of players
I'll be damned.
I have been ignoring the Cust remarks and posts (for a year including the sudden upswing lately) up to now as I considered them just silliness and a tired joke. son of a gun.
