"Fearless"
In honor of Barry's return. Original lyrics here.
I'm no monkeyball, but then again Waters and Gilmour ain't exactly Dylan. And I wouldn't want to be too fine.
"Fearless"
You say the zone's too small to find
Find it.
You say you'd like to see me try
Finding.
You miss the plate and I'll take my time
And I'll find
That zone you think so small.
Just wait a while for your "fastball."
And as I walk on down the base lines to the bag
I look round, hearing the sound of the "FITZ" muttered today.
Fearlessly the pitcher faced the plate
Smiling.
Merciless the umpire calls ball eight
Frowning.
And who's the fool who wears the cap?
From the Gap
to the Safeway
And every fifth day is your day
And as you write about the fear-lines on his brim
You look grim, hearing the din at the place you used to win.

nice.
love the ending except did you mean it to say 'used to win'?

Great song
and the part where the crowd (Manchester United or some other football club fans) chant "You'll Never Walk Alone" -- very haunting, and, for Zito, maybe a little ironic.
Liverpool, not ManU

Very nice and apropos, but
Can't Chris Drury be the fool who wears the Cup? Just this once?

Huge Pink Floyd Fan...
Very nicely done.
I love a challenge
A's Bats Tonight Dominate
{Original here.)
Gold and limpin' green, a crazy scene
A fight against the Zito we once knew.
Not fierce on mound, the bats resound
Around the lineup batters pitches pound.
Nick Swisher and Jack Cust, Dan Johnson, Mark Ellis
And Scutaro, Stewart, Chavez.
Walks can score men.
Giants' sign flops,
Single, double, homer blam. Pow, pow.
Saturday fair Dan Haren is there
Gold and limpin' green
The bats rebound the lineup batters pitches pound
Gold and limpin' green
The bats rebound the lineup batters pitches pound.
(Well done, BTW!)
Nice...
Oddly enough, I was going to challenge someone to do this exact song! I am very impressed!
