I thought it might be fun to speculate on just when the AN folk think Huston might retun from the DL - coz let's face it. While he is out, there will likely be many more games that resemble the bullpen crapfest that has been the series against KC thus far. BTW - Bullpen ERA vs KC this series 11.8 - Starters ERA 1.14.
As we have all seen, neither Duke - and his 4.97 ERA, nor Calero and his 6.23 ERA have been particulary effective this year - and Duke may be headed for the DL
So far, no one seems to know how to close (other than Huston). Lenny has the best ERA of any reliever, but he has seen the least amount of work.
If Duke is truly injured, then the A's need to DL him and bring up another arm, as Bob needs some other options. At the current rate, Big Al will appear in 90 games this year - exceeding his previous career high by 17 games - he has only appeared in 70+ games twice in his career.
So what do you think. When do we see Huston, and if we don't see him this year is it Fat Lady Singing? or can Billy figure out something else?
