Support Strikeout for Troops...
Please join Barry Zito, Sally Zito, Omar Vizquel, Raquel Aurilia, Jeff Austin Black and the legendary Eddie Money -- as they join together for a night of music on Thursday, May 24 at Ruby Skye in San Francisco to benefit Barry Zito's Strikeouts For Troops and The Giants Community Fund. Renel from 98.1 KISS FM will serve as the evening's host...
Thought some of you might be interested in supporting Strikeouts still, even though Zito is no longer an A, he is still doing Strikeouts events and helping to give back to the community so if you're able, it'd be great if you can donate or show up to support a good cause. I know a lot of the A's players (like Swisher, Ellis, and so on) are still participants in the program. I can't make it to the event this time but I went to the last 2 and they were lots of fun. I will definitely be at the next 1! :) Here's more info if you're interested in going:

About the Strikeouts For Troops:
Strikeouts for Troops was founded by Barry Zito in 2005 to provide "comforts of home" to our wounded troops and help for their families, while they often face a long recovery process while at numerous hospitals such Bethesda Naval, Walter Reed, Brooke Army, San Diego Navy, and other military hospitals throughout the country.
The non-partisan, non-profit foundation has raised nearly $500,000 in two years from donations made by 35 professional baseball players based on their on field statistical achievements, fund raising events and fan donations. 100% of funds raised goes directly to assist our injured soldiers, their children and families."

"legendary" Eddie Money?
sorry, Jack Cust and Ken Korach currently has dibs on that moniker, and neither plans to give it up. How about
"80's rocker" Eddie Money?
"Sunny" Eddie Money?
"The dude who sang with Ronnie Spector that one time" Eddie Money?
They're gonna get twice as big now...
Giants' fans are loaded.

well, in my experience...
those with the least amount of money to give, donate the most. generally, Giants fans have more money but I think A's fans give more to charity. how do you think they stay so loaded? haha :) either way, it's still worth supporting if you're able to, IMO.
Does anyone else find it awesome that...
...the advertisement at the bottom of this diary is for Support Our Troops Bracelets?
is it really?
I can't see any advertisements (I think I have them blocked...) but that's great!
Fantastic cause
But... Barry Zito won't be performing, will he? <shudder>
(I already donate, so I think I'll stay away from Zito + a stage...)
no Zito on stage.
so come on out ;)
