106.9 Changes Format!
Free FM will become Classic Hits KFRC this afternoon, after the game.
From a CBS Radio email:
"We are excited to announce that effective this afternoon following the Oakland A's broadcast, 106.9 FM will become Classic Hits KFRC! This heritage station and format will feature time-tested artists like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Elton John, Eagles, Marvin Gaye, Doobie Brothers, Fleetwood Mac and Steve Miller, to name a few. As a result, MOViN' 99.7 will pick up the new call letters KMVQ. Oakland A's baseball will continue to be broadcast on both 106.9 KFRC and 1550 AM KYOU Radio."
No change for the A's, but still, I thought it might be of interest to y'all.

610 AM (former A's flagship)
used to play classic hits before the station was bought by a Christian broadcasting company. This sounds like the FM station will be something like 610 used to be.

106.9 will have the old 99.7 format
99.7 used to be oldies/classic rock, but then they killed it and switched formats to "Movin". So, I think they are bringing the oldies/classic rock format back from the dead.

What's Elton John's speed down the first-base line?

he'd try to get "Rocket Man" ...
... but Clemens would throw a shattered l.p. at him.

Elton's so slow, the sun would go down on him.
Yes, that's a "u".
But Benny's faster, and the Jets?

Damn.
I was starting to like the 106.9 talk radio programming. Any news on where that's going?

Classic hits?
Guess that means they won't be broadcasting the half-innings when the A's bat.

The A's need some Keith Richards mojo.
If Milton could do this ...

... he would be on the DL allatime. And we can always get somebody to redo the baselines.

hell, keith has at least 9 lives
if you think about all the stuff he's done, even falling out of a tree onto his head, it's kinda amazing that he's virtually never been on the DL. nothing kills Keith. he will live longer than any of us.

If you sift through all the hubris
There's lessons to be learned from Leykis. He's kinda full of himself and all that, but if many guys would look at the reasoning behind some of his 'advice', they'd probably save themselves from being stuck in unhappy relationships/marriages. Leykis generalizes a bit too much, but he's a much faster evaluator of women and their motivations than most guys. Then again, I'm more of a cynic than an idealist when it comes to relationships.
