Question about MLB.tv archiving
I'm attending school in Davis right now, and in the dorms, so I'm in that gray area where I'm in the service area and so cannot get live MLB.tv feeds, even though we don't get FSNBA or KICU. I'm here for another 10 weeks or so, and so I'm considering several options so as to be able to get my A's fix, and one of those is MLB.tv for two months. According to their site, even those in their teams' service areas can download an archived copy of the game after it happens, but does anyone know how long it takes to get each game up after they happen? I can try to hold out on watching games if they post the games the morning after or something, but if it takes any longer than that, I may have to spring for a Slingbox back home.

The Blackout Rules on the MLB TV site say...
"Due to broadcast restrictions, new MLB.TV and Condensed Game archives are limited to a playing time of five minutes in duration until 6 am ET on the day following that on which the applicable game commenced play."
So you could get uo really really really early the next morning and watch the complete game.
I believe though that there is a difference between watching an archived game and "downloading" an archived game. I believe there is a "per game" charge for downloading, and watching the streamed broacast just falls under the monthly fee

When I watch an archived game...
(streaming, not downloaded) -- it freezes up a lot. Buffer not big enough, I guess?
I'd go with the slingbox
If that options is available I'd go with it. Unless you're a big baseball fan I think MLB.TV is overkill. Plus with the slingbox you can also watch Warriors and Sharks games, which are much more exciting then Pirates-Rockies games. I currently am in San Diego and have both MLB.TV and Slingbox, but this is mainly so I can watch as much baseball as possible at the same time (along with my warriors/sharks fix).

I'm trying ...
but instead of the Sox game, I get reruns of the NCAA skills comp and instead of the Yanks game, they have a rerun of a Cavs game ...
Any thoughts?
well i think the sox schedule is wrong
because mlb doesn't have them playing until 5pm pst.
as far as the yankee game, it might have to do with the game being postponed (rain delay?).
there is a forum section over at dewsaw though, i would check there for more information.
