A's Fans in Chicago?

A's in Chicago

I am an A's Fan in Chicago and I'm planning to buy tickets to the series against the White Sox for May 21st-23rd. If you're from Chicago and wanna go to the game, I'd love to have a fellow fan to cheer with. Post here if you're interested or are already going to the games. Thanks!

Here's one

I live in the North Suburbs (Gurnee). HUGE A's fan here. Spent a year and a half after college living in the Bay Area watching the A's in person quite frequently. It is dangerous going to the Cell (anytime) cheering for the A's, especially as bad as the hitting is this season. But as a diehard fan I will be there.

Well, I was at the cell for a twins game, and twins fans weren't treated too badly, although they weren't that vocal either...

Sox Fans

I never had any problems with ChiSox fans until last year. I do not know if it was an ego think due their WS victory, or their new, less educated bandwagon fans. I have gone to A's/Sox games every year since 1998 (except the two seasons I was in the Bay Area) and last year was the first time I was hassled by anyone. The fact that we got swept and looked like garbage did not help the cause. Until last season, we OWNED the ChiSox.

I'll be there

I try to go to all the A's / Sox games. I've been for the last 4 years, usually a combination of a friends' tickets, or, picking some up day of...

Last year was the only time I'd ever had problems. Had dudes toss my new A's hat into the urinal, but keep in mind, that's only a group of 2 causing problems. They were actually Cubs' fans, and made the mistake after tossing the hat, of saying so. Lucky to be alive.

Will be There

I have been to almost every A's game in Chicago since the mid 70's. Been thrown out for taunting Sox fans a few times cuz the A's OWN the Sox!

I'll be in the cheap seats, but I'm not sure yet how many of the games I will make it to. My past experiences rooting for the A's at US Cellular have been pretty good. There's a bit of heckling, but nothing uncomfortable.

On a related note, I left a comment on a DLD about a month back looking for people who might be interested in treking out to Geneva to see the Kane County Cougars. I don't have a car, which might make things difficult, but I was planning to either talk a friend into coming along (and driving) or else take the Metra (google maps tells me that the stadium is 3 miles from the Geneva metra station).
