Statistics are dangerous things
We all know the A's offense is worse than anemic and that our starting pitching is the only thing keeping the team on life support. I didn't know how good the pitching was until I looked at the hitting numbers for this year for A's and opponents. It's shocking, but when playing the A's the rest of the world hits as bad as our boys do:
R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS
A's 79 171 40 3 12 253 76 77 138 10 5 .229 .308 .339 .647
Ops 75 166 35 3 18 261 72 62 148 11 8 .230 .292 .362 .654
Does this mean our offense doesn't suck as much as it seems to or that our pitching is so good that it makes the other teams look like they suck as bad as we do and is therefore other-worldly and stuff?
Or maybe there's a demon possessing the Coli right now that makes all hit balls jump right into somebody's glove.
Anyhow, check it out.

New Rule
All polls from here on out should have a "FIRE GEREN NOW!" option. He's been here 20-odd games, honeymoon's over Bob.
Sounds reasonable.
A "Trade Kendall" option is probably in order too.
Voted for "none of the above" because ..
.. at the time of this post, it had zero votes ..
