Rivercats win 9-1.  Jason Windsor pitched deep into the game with Portland last night, finally giving up his shutout he had for 7 innings and yielded a run and 5 hits in 7.2 innings.  It was the kind of pitching he needs to do to get noticed and get back to the big league club.

Jason Stokes hit a homerun and batted in 5 runs in the game; it was the first offense he has supplied in this young season.

Barton went 2 for 2 plus had two walks and 2 runs in the game.  He is now hitting .400.

nice work

if anyone is interested, I've been writing (along with Condition Oakland's SwizStick) about the A's minors at MVN for a while now, and we have nightly recaps of all the minor league games there.

Melillo

Every time he was up Melillo hit the ball well, even if not always for a hit.  He also made a great leaping catch at 2d (Bocachica made two great diving catches as well). It was fun to watch.

Any word on Lansford?

He missed a start on Wed. due to "arm tightness".

Yep. Warm and fuzzy... that's me.
