Open Thread: Bay Bridge Series Game 1
The boys are back in town! A's-Giants from SBC-ATT-Sprintrizon Park, with Rich Harden taking the mound for the A's in his final tuneup for the regular season. Those still standing will undoubtedly comprise the starting lineup for Oakland. Hope they can find 9 of those.
The starting lineups:
Kendall
Stewart
Piazza
Chavez
Swisher
Crosby
Buck
Ellis
C. Thomas
Roberts
Vizquel
Bonds
Durham
Aurilia
Klesko
Feliz
Molina
Winn

Todd Walker to the rescue
Beane's trying to work his last minute magic again. Walker's a decent hit no field kind of guy. He's a better defensive option at 1B than Ruby. He provides a good left-handed stroke and can fill-in at 2B and 3B. I hink he'll make the opening day roster.

For Bay Area fans who don't have cable...
by HigherPie on Mar 30, 2007 7:26 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Lemme try again...
I'm in the Bay Area. I don't have cable (or a TV that gets any reception). MLB usually blacks out A's games for me. Today, they aren't. I'm excited about that.

Yeah, I've seen you say that a million times...
I'm just not very good at the intertubes.

I don't get how TVs are evil.
Did you have one without a channel tuning function or an "off" switch?
by Poppy on Mar 30, 2007 7:32 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I literally
don't have a TV. But my wife's name is Poppy! (Think I've told you that before.)
by HigherPie on Mar 30, 2007 7:34 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I understood that you don't have a TV...
I also wouldn't have something in my house that I thought was evil. I was just curious as to why you think TVs are evil.
And no, I don't think you've told me your wife's name is Poppy! That's not my real name, but I think I'd prefer it.
by Poppy on Mar 30, 2007 7:37 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I don't actually think they're evil.
I just find that I'm a much more productive person when I don't have one (I work from home). I download the shows I like.
It only sucks during baseball season, when I miss Baseball Tonight and can't watch A's games because Zonis refuses to teach me how to use a proxy server.
