Any info on Harden's offseason?

I'm on the East Coast so don't get as much A's info as I would like.  Anyone hear any news (good or bad) on how Harden is recovering from his late season elbow and back pain this offseason?

I read a few days ago that he has been throwing about three days a week in Arizona; but it didn't say if that was just long toss or if he is throwing from the mound.  I know there was some talk of Tommy John; but since he was able to come back in the playoffs I assume that was just talk.  Will he be healthy enough to start spring training and open the season as the A's #1?

Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

the word is that he is throwing
long toss, but that he is feeling good, no problems or ill effects.  He has been working out in Arizona since the end of the season.

Depends which rumor you believe:
  1. He's dead
  2. He's in Jennifer's closet
  3. He'll be ready for spring training
  4. both 2 and 3

Huh. I always thought that baseball's version of a home run is the motherf---ing home run itself. -FJM

But wait!
If you look at the picture cloesly, it looks like what appears to be his right arm is actually the arm of the woman walking past him, touching his hand as she passes.

Which would mean... (gulp) Rich Harden has had his arm off.

Don't worry--it's just
the old switcharoo trick. Harden rests his arm between starts and between seasons by secretly switching arms with a woman who knows how to turn off an alarm clock. He'll have his regular arm back by spring training, well rested, and nobody ever needs to know what we know. Shhhhh...

For a second, I was worried he was...
...having an affair.

But then I remembered... he's 'armless.

I met Rich last week
I was at A's fantasy camp last week and Harden (along with Swish) was there working out.  Super down to earth guy.  Totally cool - he'd come and just rap with us, talking about all sorts of stuff.  Zero attitude.  He was working out hard in the weight room strengthening his shoulder and I saw him playing long toss a couple of times.  He looked totally healthy to me.

you should
do a little diary on your experience at A's fantasy camp if you have time... I'd read it.

watching Harden do long toss
is something I find very entertaining.  He seems to be able to throw far farther and harder than any other pitcher the A's have had in the past few years.  When he backs up into CF, he tosses laser shots to Buckley on the foul line.
