Winter Meetings Day 2 - Open Trade Rumor Thread

A lot has happened since Day 1, so lets go right into things, shall we?

-The New York Yankees self imposed trade deadline has come and passed, but most believe tha Yankees will still stick around.

-Meanwhile, the RedSox are close to acquiring Johan Santana for a package of either Lester, Crisp, Justin Masterson and Jed Lowrie, with another prospect thrown in as well, OR Ellsbury, Lowrie and Masterson with another prospect a possibility.

-The Diamandbacks have interest in Haren, and are trying to work out a deal.

The Boston Herald reports that the A’s and Diamondbacks have had constructive talks about a deal which would send Dan Haren to Arizona and Conor Jackson and Carlos Gonzalez along with two more players to Oakland.

I wonder who those two other players are, because I was under the impression that the D'Backs have no pitching to give up, and I don't see Chris Young, Justin Upton or Stephan Drew in there, do I? I would like Conor Jackson, but where do you put him? We need a SS and a CF, so I expect the A's to try to go for Young and Drew.

-The Dodgers are pushing hard for Joe Blanton, with the Mets coming up from behind.

-Erik Bedard is on the trade block, and the Mariners are one of the teams trying to deal for him, with a completly hypothetical package of Adam Jones, Brandon Morrow and Jeff Clement. I'd sure as hell trade Blanton for that package.

-The Tigers are also going after Dan Haren, and may offer Maybin and Miller in a package.
