For some unknown asinine reason, the A's offered Mike Piazza arbitration. They also offered it to Stewart. I can understand Stewart, to some degree, since he was the most consistent hitter the A's had. Piazza on the other hand puzzles me. He made 8 Million last year, and if Jason Kendall, and Yorcit Torrealba can get multi year contracts of at least 5 million pe year, what would the rate for Piazza be. I am hoping Piazza already told Billy he would not come back, and agreed to deny the Arby offer. Both Mike, and Shannon are Class B, so we would get draft picks for both. IN BILLY WE TRUST??
OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Oakland A's today announced that they have offered arbitration to outfielder Shannon Stewart and designated hitter Mike Piazza, two of the A's three free agents. The A's declined to offer arbitration to outfielder Jeff Davanon.
