Tejada traded to Astros
ESPN is reporting that Miguel Tejada has been traded to the Astros for 5 players. This is obviously newsworthy in that the Angels are/should be searching for a SS/3B and unless the Astros trade him on to the Angels this is one less player the Angels will be able to get to fill that hole. First Cabrera and now Tejada. Interesting news to say the least. Go A's!

But yours somehow appeared first...
you must have scooped me. If one of the diaries needs to be taken down for being duplicative mine can be taken down. It doesn't bother me either way.

Tejada for outfielder Luke Scott, pitchers Matt Albers, Troy Patton and Dennis Sarfate, and third baseman Michael Costanzo.

wow, that's not a whole lot...
but then tejada isn't really the same miggy anymore.
Hm,
doesn't seem like the Orioles got a lot of quality to go with the quantity. The only "B" prospect in the bunch is Patton, although Luke Scott is a fine player.
I guess it's not going to hurt the team, though, so what the hey. Maybe one of the pitchers breaks out.
Meanwhile, the Astros continue to display a truly incredible ignorance of how to run a baseball team.
Can we get Everett?
No bat, but plus plus plus defense.
supposedly Tejada still has the right
to demand a trade after 2008 (I assume that's from his contract with the Orioles, which the Astros took on).
That's correct
However, if he exercised his right he'd have to play for his new team through 2010. His contract runs through 2009 but he'd be forced to take some kind of arbitration for 2010. He'd get to be a FA after 2010.
