This post isn't for those of you who think he's got nothing left in his surgically repaired shoulder, but for those of you who made the arguement for Frank Thomas last season, Bobby Crosby the year after Miggy left and Rich Harden every season (aka Billy Beane).
Mulder hasn't signed yet. We've got an all right handed rotation (because we both know Joe Kennedy ain't going to make it out of April as a starter) and can pitch accordingly until he's ready to pitch in the three slot; thus giving us a lefty starter for our annual second half run. Plus, he's cheap and looking for a multi year deal, which should help considering I haven't heard of any studs coming out of the farm system the way Huddy, Zito, Mulder and Harden did.
FYI: Mulder's not even 30 and has really only had one and half bad seasons (due to injury). If that's reason to give up on him, then why don't we go ahead and trade Harden to the Mets?
