A's vs. GIANTS to open 2007 season

I don't know how to do HTML, so here is the link. I'm guessing that MLB is praying for a Zito vs. A's game right off the bat. But, I can't remember Oakland playing in the first game of the year, can you? Sorry this is short, I just couldn't beleive what I saw.

yeah

they always have an A's vs. giants exhibition series the weekend before the season starts.

they have a schedule of ST games too

But

what I'm saying is, why is this the only spring training game on that particular schedule, and there isn't a single other one on it? Doesn't make sense.

It IS the only ST game that day

26 ML teams play their opener on Monday 4/2, and 25 of them are taking 4/1 off. Cards-Mets is the ESPN opener on 4/1 and SD-SF is on 4/3. The A's and Giants play the only ML exhibition game that day. I suppose it's possible that a few teams are playing their AAA or AA teams on 4/1, but those games don't appear on the ST schedule.

Slight correction

A's-Rivercats and a few other appear on the ST schedule. So yeah, the A's are the only team playing an exhibition game on Sunday and then their opener on Monday.

Hit previous 3 days

and you will see a ton of ST games. That SF-Oak game is the only ST game that Sunday

Actually the A's Northern California ST opener is

an exhibition in Sacramento against the River Cats on March 29 and then they go to the Bay to play the Giants in a weekend exhibition series. Shh, don't tell too many Sacramentans because I want to be able to get tickets.....
