$1 million/1 year. He got Saarloos money. I have mixed emotions about this move...on one hand he could have been Eric Karros-esque or it could have been a steal. Well, at least that eliminates a OF/1B/DH spot. It's time for Barton, Buck, Johnson, and Durazo to take some hacks off of the tee and win a spot!

I voted for the second option

even though the Pale Hose didn't get a bad deal. I mean it's hardly 7 years $126 million for a pitcher or 1 year $16 million (allegedly) for an early 40's 'roider with legal troubles and no one seriously pursuing him.

Plus, today it was announced

that Podsednik will be out 6-8 weeks following groin surgery (I get a lot of spam offering similar help in pill form).

I think signing Erstad is a good move for the White Sox, just as not signing Erstad is, IMO, a good move for Oakland.
