OT: Marlin Rookie pitches no hitter
This doesn't happen everyday.
Little fishy Anibal Sanchez no hit the D-Backs last night on his 13th start of the year. How about that? I watched the highlight reel for it and, keeping in mind that I really have no affection whatsoever for the Marlins, I got extremely excited. It's just so...cool. And so unusual.
Anyway, I thought I'd post this here because it's baseball related and I thought Anibal deserved some recognition. Go rook!

Just happened to catch it
As I watched him speed off to first, I could swear he was safe -- tie traditionally going to the runner and all. Maybe the ump at 1B just wanted to seal the deal and erred on the side of history. I even started to write a post about it here but had to go back to work and never finished it.
The highlights that I later saw was the same shot that was shown live, so I'm wondering if anyone else thought he was safe. (In all fairness to the ump, the shot doesn't really show when the ball made it to the first baseman's glove...)
Either way, a cool accomplishment, particularly coming off Ortiz's near no-no in D.C.. (Interesting that the Big Unit, who was the last person to through not only a no hitter but a perfect game, was also deep into one last night.)
