Kurt Suzuki & USA get into Olympics

The USA defeated Panama yesterday to qualify for the 2008 Olympics, the last to have baseball as an Olympic sport.

Unlike 2003, when a 1-0 loss to Mexico excluded the USA from the 2004 Olympics, an early loss didn't hurt Team USA this time.

The A's own Kurt Suzuki was key in the team qualifying, as he hit a walk-off homer against Brazil just a couple weeks ago.

I wanted to get the opinion of AN on the end of baseball in the Olympics, for the foreseeable future. I think it's not necessarily a bad thing, as the WBC is here, and it contributes to the development of baseball in the countries that participate.
