Where are you sitting?

Well, after refreshing my browser countless times to navigate through the very poorly designed oaklandathletics.com ticket sales pages to get some playoff tickets, I was finally able to pick up a couple for (Friday's?) home game #1. I'll be in section 109, row 34 (partially obstructed view of the scoreboard! WEAK!), if anyone wants to visit. Did anyone have better luck?

Not what I'd call better luck; a transaction for seats in 211 (I think) row 8 died midway through.

BUT I'M GOING!!!

Ticket Sales
is whining on here a perpetual thing from people when it comes to tickets and seats to A's games?

"after refreshing my browser countless times to navigate through the very poorly designed oaklandathletics.com ticket sales pages to get some playoff tickets...."

Blah blah blah.....

Take a look at every MLB website for ticket sales.  They're all the same (The A's don't design theirs) and they are very easy to navigate actually.

Geeze...be glad you can BUY tickets!  Or would you rather be a Royals fan?

~This is a simple game...You throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball. YOU GOT IT!?!

by BornInOakland on Sep 25, 2006 9:55 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Agreed...
Blame ticketmaster, not the A's.  Every big event you try to get through the moment the tickets go on sale you run into these same sorts of problems.  Consider yourself lucky that the virtual waiting room wait was only about 30 seconds.  Other teams nationwide have virtual waiting room times that start at 15 minutes - only to set you up for the same sort of problems you discussed above. This ticket buying experience was relatively pain free.

Go A's!!!

What time is the wedding? Any hope that scheduling will work out? Obviously I'd love better seats but not at that cost.

Looking at game 4 if Saturday
If it turns out not to be Saturday, are there people on the site that would buy them from me?  Or does everyone who wants tickets have them?

I can't go Saturday but could potentially go if it's not Saturday.  Shoot me an email if you're up for it!

What are the likely game times?  Is it certain we're playing Friday and Saturday?

My guess
if we play NYY, they will be night games; DET or MIN, day games. It all depends on what the TV network wants.

Just my best guesses.

I managed Plaza Infield
Sec 222, Row 1. It said "view limited due to foot traffic" or something. Also I suppose for the rail being in the way.

Basically I hope no one is walking too much in the aisle because they'll be RIVETED to the game!

Went down to the Coliseum this morning
Got there about 8:45 and the line was up to the arena ticket windows. Got to the front of the line about 10:00.

For game one I got section 230 (requested best available), and for game 2 I got section 237 (requested cheapest available with 3 together; bleachers were already sold out).

FYI... one of the employees said ALCS tickets will go on sale after the A's win one or two games in the ALDS (woof, woof).

the entire first deck and bleachers are sold out. the only sections left are the plaza bleachers and the outer plaza level sections.

by uci anteater on Sep 25, 2006 2:08 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yes
When I was there at 10am, they were saying the lower deck was sold except for a few singles here and there.

by Flyin As on Sep 25, 2006 2:08 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I got them by phone
Started dialing at 9:02, got about seven busy signals before I got in the queue; bypassed the voice robot, endured a lot of Baroque top 40, and got a live person at around 9:40.  It seemed like an eternity at the time but not too bad, really.

So for Game 1 I'm in 237 row 5, Game 2 236 row 4.  I also have a single seat (for the entire postseason) somewhere in 235.  Depending on the work schedules of my posse, we might end up with an extra seat for one or more of these games, which I'd definitely offer on AN.

and never got through, to a robot or person! Luckily I was also using the computer, so I got 2 tickets (Sec 222). Yay!
