Card stunts ready for the next phase

As you may have known, we had a small arts & crafts party at my house in Oakland this morning before the Angels heartlessly destroyed our playoff hopes.  We made the tiles for the card stunts to be performed next Saturday in Anaheim, nobody got too high off the spray adhesive, and I'm happy to report that no dogs were harmed.  For all you DUDES that silently shunned me for having an arts & crafts party, I'll have you know that it was just me and the ladies today, so THERE ;-).

Big thanks to gigglingone, batgirl, Poppy (& baseballgirl in absentia) for all your help, I had a great time.

Also, thanks to Poppy for putting out the dough for the materials.  If you feel like helping out, she fronted around $200, you can donate via

PayPal at distantsun7@gmail.com. Never mind, Poppy has been paid back in full

woo hoo!
So what we did was cut off 6 x 22 inch pieces off each piece of poster board. Those pieces are presently being shreaded into confetti, and I'll be bringing LOTS of it to the game tomorrow. If you want some, come find me. I'll either be in 233, or in the LF bleachers. :)

I'll save a bag for you. :)

My shredder went kaput, so I've got about 20 bags now....if I get up early enough I'll try again in the morning, but otherwise, I think this is a good start. :)

A's fan transplanted to Eugene
One of the great things about being an A's fan in Eugene is that when I wear all my green and gold nobody looks at me funny.

Last wekend...
I met up with about 15 or so oregon Alumni and had a blast watching the UO VS. OK game. Hard to imagine there would be so many Oregon Alumni down here but there is!! My sister (twin) went to CAL, needless to say, Cal-Oregon games are a bit heated in my household. Take care!

hmmmm....
my twin didn't go to Cal, but the rest of my family did! Should be great fun!!!

When did you graduate from Oregon?

congrads......
On St. Thomas, there is about 15-20 Oregon ulumni here. We have a good time raising our Duck pride since there is SUCH an east coast bias. Any how cheers, keep your head up! Wish I was back in the Bay watching my A's clinch!!

Thanks everybody!
eamb, batgirl, gigglingone for the work (and $$$), and everyone else who has helped me out with donations.   And everyone else who will be in Anaheim next Saturday hopefully not getting giant papercuts from flipping the cards.  And everyone else who won't be in Anaheim (or won't be in our section in Anaheim), because we're all together in spirit...  Amen.

I gave my new camera a test run tonight in San Diego, we'll have plenty of photographic evidence of our takeover!

Define "trust"... LOL
I'll trust you if you promise not to point a camera at me, or promise to crop me out of pictures before you post them, or to not identify me in pictures that I can't be cropped out of...  :P~~~

Unless you were clever...
Suspecting that I would chicken out in the face of camera lenses, you actually just gave me five stacks of cardboard, and have shipped the real cards to someone in SoCal... via UPS, who will lose one box.

Won't be there, but...
May I suggest a pre-game tailgate and practice session for the card flippers?

by LoveDemAs on Sep 24, 2006 8:14 AM PDT up reply actions

Practice session is a good idea...
bbg & I talked a very little bit about logistics of "getting the cards to the stadium" since Mr. Poppy & I plan to walk from the Hilton (long story... but it's close to the stadium), and we'll have the cards with us.  I'll probably post a diary later in the week so we can try to decide on some details, which might include practicing somehow...

yup
Y'all should meet up in the parking lot somewhere, practice the signs, and then everyone carries their own card in -- that way no one person is carrying them all. :)

by gigglingone on Sep 24, 2006 9:50 AM PDT up reply actions

yeah
I was thinking the same thing. If we meet in the parking lot (or at least a good number of people) it won't be as hard to bring them in. eeeeee I'm excited!

Anaheim tailgate warning
This may be old news, but remember that the Angels enforce a no alcohol policy in their lot, and have been known to actually issue open container citations.  My sumptuous experience in the Coli lot yesterday included eating and drinking in both pre and post game splendor.  This is one area where the Oakland fan experience puts that of Anaheim to shame.

Thank you all

Here's what I want...
I want all of AN to go to this game, fill up one entire stadium level with card stunts.

{buys up all the green & yellow posterboard and spray adhesive in the Bay Area}
{drops it off at eamb's house with oxygen tank}
