HH Admin at His Very Best... Again
From tonight...
Rev Halofan is on it again... typical behavior and not the "that was long ago" BS he was spouting here a short time ago.
The fact that that blog is still on SB reflects neither well on SB nor on Blez' anemic defense of free speech. Both of which combine to reflect badly on the idea of free speech by left-leaning folk. HH Chavez remains an embarrassment to SB. I'm sure more will come through the night and through the weekend from that knuckle-dragging, foul-mouthed loser who, somehow, remains a gleam in the eye of Kos and Blez. Shame on both of you. One of you should know better. The other definitely does.
bad math, you're right.
you are also banned for being a complete asshole. goodbye.

You do know the A's have scored 10 more
runs then the Angels right?
Might want to think about who has the shitty offense.

i never really read halos heaven
I'm very glad Blez, Nico, Baseballgirl, etc., allow for mostly free discussion here. It's refreshing, fun and I hope we maintain it. Even though I'm a leftie, left- and right-leaning folk should applaud that kind of attitude.

It doesn't require 'stirring shit up'
Which is kind of the point we've all been making for so long.
Wanna ban trolls? Fine. But when you ban people for pointing out (with facts) that your grand statement is wrong, that's just low class.
Though I'm not sure how this is a left/right issue.

I Can't...
That lack of tolerance is disgusting, and unique to that web site to all of SB Nation.
When a blog moderator roams other blogs bleating that his previous bans "were a long time ago," and then does it again, then that blog demeans SB Nation's half-stated notions of speech.
So long as that moderator and his blog remain on SB, then the entire concept of SB Nation is spoiled.
What was that Jimmy Osmond song? Something about one bad apple not spoiling the whole barrel. Rev Halo Fan risks that musical truism.

Low class?
It's an Angels blog. Not a general baseblog. If you don't like that, don't go there.

I'm totally in agreeance
It's a fan blog. More importantly, it's THEIR fan blog. To do what with as they please. If they don't want debate on there, if they're there merely to root for the Angels and have a good time, then that's really their perogative. Maybe it'd be more democratic for Rev to let us go over there and show him up, but there's honestly no reason he should HAVE to, and if he did it would probably be to the detriment of his own blog anyway. I mean honestly, why would you want to run an Angels blog where half of your regular audience are A's fans there to berate you? And more importantly, why would Angels fans want to visit this blog at all?

Someone kill me please
Blez had heard us and doesn't care that we don't like the guy, as long as Rev doesn't do anything illegal he's going to be given free reign. It's as simple as that.
HH is an Angels website. Forget the whole "community" spiel that Blez has preached at AN since Day 1, that doesn't apply to SB Nation in general and HH in particular. It's intended to be its own isolated enclave and that is the way Blez and Kos and Rev want it. Blez has come out and said as much.
Now, Rev is a hack. The only way the hack will get fired is if his numbers tank. If you visit HH his numbers will not tank.
So don't visit Halos Heaven. If you've been around AN for a while you know the score. Enough with the moral outrage. It's been done and it's gone nowhere.

How is it trolling...
Around these parts, you'd get a "oops, you're right... oh well, I'm day-to-day, I guess" for such an action.

To Everyone Who Goes To HH
When Blez said we should leave them alone, I was a bit in shock, I disagreed with him at first. THen I realized I got caught up in all this crap about how they dont run the blog like us. Yes they run it in ways we deem inappropriate, but that is their blog! they let us have ours why cant be let them have theirs? think about that people, please.

Exactly!
Shame on Blez? Nah dude, Shame on you, because this is the kind of crap exactly that we have going on in the real world. People thinking that others community should be exactly like theirs, or at least resemble it. You don't like it? fine, leave them alone, they obviously like it, and guess what? That's not exactly a bad thing because it is their community...Then I realized I got caught up in all this crap about how they don't run the blog like us. Yes they run it in ways we deem inappropriate, but that is their blog! They let us have ours why cant be let them have theirs? think about that people, please.
To demand change from [or for] the HH blog -- as a whole community -- and from the behavior of the Rev in general just because it does not fit how other SBNation sites are run, is quite frankly intolerant as well (only to a much lesser degree, of course, but nonetheless it's still intolerant)

thank god for revhalofan
it is interesting to see kos' name getting thrown around here. the differenc between kos and most bloggers is that kos has risen to prominence and doesn't have the time or inclination to swat a lowly fly like the rev.
by mcbronsh on Sep 23, 2006 2:49 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
you know...
They're no doubt feeling the same way this weekend. The last thing they want to read is an AN member on their site for any reason whatsoever, even if they're only 'helpfully' correcting their math. And I understand that, and hopefully everyone here will too.
I believe Kos is being mentioned because he's paying the freight for SB (or, rather, those of us who donate generously to DK are). It makes you wonder if Kos is aware of some of the more outrageous Rev comments over there, and I'm not talking about his profanity.

The left's commitment to free speech
I really don't want a discussion of this question to highjack this thread, but I do want to note that:
- Using the beliefs or actions of one or two individuals as proof that they somehow typify (and indict) the beliefs and actions of an entire group to which the one or two individuals happen to belong is entirely fallacious. It makes no more sense to say that this raises questions about the free speech commitments of the left than to say that it raises questions about the free speech commitments of Northern Californians, men, or A's fans (all three of which are groups to which Blez and Kos belong).
- I don't know Blez's politics (and really don't care to), but it seems a stretch to call Kos "left." His political commitments, by his own account, are much more partisan than ideological. Not that this matters (see #1 above).

Rev is great...
Rev is harmless and fun to taunt. He is the fanatical blogmaster that makes Athletics Nation seem that much more sophisticated. Let the baby have his bottle and just be glad that you aren't a dedicated Angel's fan who has to deal with him seriously.
