Zito's out of here.
I liked it when Giambi, Damon, Miggy, Huddy and Mulder where on the "way out". They all kind of left the door open to returning (even if they weren't really going to come back).
This thing with Zito -openly- talking about leaving our A's is kinda lame.
I will stay upbeat and root for him (cause in the end I root for the uniform).
Has any of our big free agents been so open before the season was over; talking up a move to specefic teams?

Wrong
I much prefer Zito being honest to Giambi's bullshit.

I have never disliked Giambi because he left for more money -- that is your right as a "hard-working" American.
Giambi flat-out lied about wanting to stay in Oakland . . . every time he came out with a "demand" and the A's honored it, he changed his demand to something different.
His agents told him to play the "no-trade clause card" because they knew the A's had never before included that in a deal. When the A's finally capitulated and said "ok" (mid-season, mind you) Giambi basically said, "Oh, well, now it's too late."
I know this is going to sound very lame, but I know Giambi's wife, and I've heard this story verified on three different occasions.
Giambi simply felt it was in his best interests to keep his desire to play for NY "secret", so as not to turn the fans against him.
He never imagined his horrible bluff -- you have to be unbelievably naive to not see it -- would, in fact, turn the fans against him.
A's fans aren't altogether stupid . . . Tejada doesn't get booed, Damon doesn't get booed, Dye doesn't get booed . . . Giambi gets booed, because he lied. Great player -- and you know what? GREAT GUY -- I like him a lot personally -- but he lied - plain and simple.
